2021 All Ireland Minor Football Championship

I'd fancy Meath in the final. From watching Tyrone against Cork and the first half against Donegal I think the main reason they're winning is their physical strength and power. Every single player looks big, strong and powerful. The only players I could pick out though as outstanding are Devlin at 11 who looks very good and McElholm at corner forward. Meath for me look to be better footballers. They still are physically strong but I think they've more quality. Kelly at 3 and Corbett at 6 are excellent. Emmanuel at 11 is a very exciting prospect, very well rounded. Corcoran and Finlay the 2 corner forwards are scorers. Meath to win for me but it will be tight.

Like a lot of minor matches, it's very difficult to predict a winner. Tyrone were very impressive against Cork, but we don't know the relative strengths of these teams. There's also the chance that Cork were simply well below par on the day.
Tyrone will be favourites, but no outcome would surprise me.
A lot of these finals tend to be close and I'd predict this one to be the same.
Both sides have some quality players, who we'll hopefully see at senior level.

Broadly agree with that assessment of Meath. There's a touch of class about some of those you mentioned, also a gk who has a accurate kick and can kick well over halfway. I'd also add Ennis the number 2 to the list a small terrier like back.

That goalkeeper is more accurate with his kickouts than than our senior keepers! We badly need him.

Agreed regarding trying to pick. I have seen Tyrone's last 3 games and they are like an under twenty team playing at minor especially McHugh at midfield. Obviously Meath have alot of excitement and expectation behind them. I really haven't seen much of them the semi final win apart. However Meath supporters can be rightly excited about this team today as I think Tyrone are an excellent team and I am predicting them to win.

Close game, some very optimistic shot selection by Tyrone in last quarter!

It was right good game with great endeavour and some very good turnovers and tackling by both teams. Fair play to Meath. Tyrones team work left them for most of the game. A lot of blind ally running in the first half and last 10 minutes they completely lost their composure with the shot selection. And a call out to the meath support. Really got behind the team.

I tip my hat Meath, delivered on the day that matters. Hugely impressive especially defensively holding a free scoring Tyrone to 1-11.

Got a bit of luck with Tyrone missing that free with the last kick of the game, and the nerves clearly got the better of Meath in the final 5 minutes but make no mistake Meath fully deserved their win. To Meath supporters enjoy the celebrations, 29 years a long time coming for a county with a great history and tradition

What a finish!!! Congrats to Meath and their many passionate supporters especially on here. They had all the composure when it mattered where Tyrone literally kicked it away. Bit fortunate there was no more punishment than a free for the high tackle. This one will really really hurt the young Tyrone lads given the abysmal finishing.

Tyrone let a substitute kick the last pressure kick to tie the game up and bring it to extra time. Mind boggling stuff. Did they not have a manager on the sideline that could figure out that that was a very risky thing to do? Congratulations Meath and hard luck Tyrone.

Congrats to Meath. I only saw the last 10mins…Exciting finish. Feel for the young Tyrone lad who kissed an easy free at the end. That's sport though.

I'm bloody ecstatic. I'm here with a older daughter of mine who last saw a Meath team win a championship trophy in 2010 and that was spoiled by someone in crowd. Today as a 22 yo. She finally gets to see a Meath team lift a all ire title. I'll be honest , I always thought we'd win prior to this game. But that Tyrone team are some great outfit, they are a very very good team, Meath are just I think a very slightly better unit. But very little in it. I suppose something happened in last 5 mins that i guess can be expected at minor level. Meath got very nervous, and Tyrone shot selection went out the window. I really thought we were going to extra time and then I'd be worried.
Congratulations to all the Meath team and management you have done the county proud. Hard luck to Tyrone you were a serious opponent.
Once we can keep the Aussies away from both counties going forward I see many a battle between our two counties over the next decade.

It's significant win for leinster football. This Meath team are only third leinster team to win a minor All Ireland since 2000. In the last 21 years only 3 leinster teams have won minor All-Irelands. Tbey are laois in 2003 and Dublin in 2012 and now Meath in 2021. This is an excellent underage team. This team and many of the players have won 2 leinster minor titles in a row and 1 All Ireland minor title and they have beaten Dublin by 11 pts in this championship and beaten Dublin by 11 pts in last years championship. And have beaten an excellent Tyrone team who were hammering every other team in thevchampionship this year. Many were saying this was best Tyrone minor team to come out of Tyrone since 98 01 minor Tyrone All Ireland winning teams.
This is brillant underage team. Many of them look like they have really potential. Allot of really good quality footballers. I thought Meath had better footballers today. Kelly is a future Meath full back. And Corbett a future centre back. Ennis is an outstanding defender. Kinlough, an excellent prospect at midfield. And Emmanuel is a very exciting talent. While Finley O Murchu Corcocan are good natural inside forwards with good futures. O Bric the manager has done real good job, managing this team since U15. He has been involved managing underage team in Meath in Navan O Mahonys and Wolfe Tones for 20 years. He was manager of outstanding Navan O Mahoneys minor team in 00s which won County titles. He's knows underage Meath football very well. Really impressed with him and he will take these lads over at U20. Which has to be Meaths next aim.

Congratulations Meath. I missed the match due to work and driving but sounds like it was a good match. Hard luck Tyrone you'll be back.

Can't understate how happy I am to see those young lads win. Two very good teams. Tyrone add a few of those minors to the current senior team and they'll be a hell of a team. For us it's about building to be a top six team. Nice to finally have some positivity about the future of Meath football.

Well done on the win today, some great heart in that team along with their skills. Not just a great win for Meath but Leinster football in general. Leinster counties have taken lots of unfair abuse and ridicule over the years due to Dublins dominance with lots of talk of football being dead in the province. Meath are minor champions, Offaly u20 champions, and Kildare won an u20 a couple of years back. Hopefully before long we have a great Leinster championship again at senior level like we regularly had 20 years ago.

It's all about keeping these lads together now as they progress to u20 and beyond, also to make sure that they know they are well taken care of by Meath gaa. Ie that there is no way Aussie royal les would tempt any of them like what happened with Nash etc.
