Dubs V Mayo

Fair play to Mayo and Congrats, probably fitting that they should be the ones to finally defeat Dublin. As for Dublin, some of us could see this coming, this day was always going to come, Farrell just speeded the process up.

If any team deserved to end Dublin's run it was Mayo. Thoroughly deserved win it was too.

The writing has been on the wall for some time with this Dublin team for anyone who cared to look but what a run it has been!

Well done Mayo, but there is work to be done. Kerry are a better side than this Dublin side.

Well done Mayo. Hennelly, Conroy, O'Donoghue, O'Hora and many more played with a savage intensity there that Dublin couldn't live with in the end. I think Horan putting O'Se on at the end was a smart move to keep him onside for the next few weeks. Mayo need to go home now and work like demons for a few weeks. Celebrate for tonight only and recognize it for what it was, a stepping stone.

Dublin were mighty champions, credit to Mayo and congratulations. Mayo's young new guys really stood up to the mark when the pressure was on, fantastic team display.
I always thought Cluxton was a little bit overrated (just a little bit), but his level head and distribution was sorely missed by Dublin today. Is Comerford the best that Dublin has at their disposal?

Replying To jonno:  "Such a justice that Mayo beat Dublin after all these years of being best and keeping it interesting."
Of course I meant second best. Hopefully they're not second best this year. Reality is Kerry will be favorites to take a snakey all Ireland

Surely now the inquest into management of Dublin must begin, it appears the wheels came off with the breaking of lockdown rules , the cluxton farce (although comerford is a able replacement) so many walking away , I may be wrong but I can't see Dessie been on the sideline next year.

Massive congrats to Mayo. I had you dead and buried at half time. Don't ruin it all by losing to Kerry or whoever. To the Dubs, great embassadors for our games and this day had to come, fitting that it would be Mayo that took you out given all the years of misery you have given them. Mayo4sam!!!

Replying To Tirchonaill1:  "Hard luck to Dublin, they have been magnificent Champions and they will come again, Mayo done brilliant from half time on, they wanted it more and Dublin no longer have the likes of Connolly to lead them,
now Mayo have to go and win Sam, they'd be better off leaving Aidan O'Shea at home."
They were going around trying to decapitate fellas at the end, great champions don't do that.

Replying To DonegalAtlantic:  "And shocking biased attempts to play it down by RTE"
Watching match again on Sky, difference is day and night compared to RTÉ.

Replying To Saynothing:  "A BIG well done to Mayo, beat 16 man Dublin with pure guts and never say die. When you rattle Dublin they don't like it."
Big time they don't like being rattled. The home venue, majority of crowd and familiarity and routine has always been to their advantage. In the last decade Mayo played in a rigged, by the GAA, championship... when it was down to millimetres in some games (not all in fairness to Dublin) at this level those things worked against Mayo.

Remarkable result considering Dublin's professionalism and game management skills. The first time a team didn't believe they were a beaten docket against Dublin with 10 minutes left in the game and genuinely believed they could beat them. The debate for a level playing field must continue to take place despite this win fair access to funding to all teams to enable them to get closer to their level. This is just the beginning.

SKY coverage is very good. RTE very biased towards Dublin.

Exactly. Should have had more sent off. I also noticed how good Dublin's swarm defence was in the first half. Very like what Tyrone did in 03. If it was puke football then, presume it's still puke football now?
