As Cork are unable to fulfil this fixture will Galway be awarded the game. Could it have repercussions with Cork Senior hurling team?

No under 20's on Cork senior team this year! But it will have an effect on preparations! I suspect Galway will play Cork at a later date.

Alan Connolly and Shane Barrett are both 20. Played senior already this year. This Covid is a "canary in the goldmine " and can derail the All Ireland yet!

Its an awful shame to hear this and speedy recovery to those involved. With everything that has happened the past year or so its a surprise this hasn't happened sooner.

Agree, and it made a mess of Dublin's chances in the Leinster hurling final.

As a Galway supporter I would firstly like to wish the person affected a speedy and full recovery.

I hope/expect the game will be refixed, there would be little merit in awarding Galway the title by default, personally I'd rather play and lose than win a title like this.

I expect a refixture though.

Well said.

No reason at all to award the game rather than refix it. They delayed last year's for six months! Same panic no longer applies.

As for the recovery, if it is like other cases of players affected, the person(s) probably didn't even feel ill, and only knew they had it when tested due to contact tracing. Fit young people simply don't get sick or die from this other than in a probability on the same scale as getting eaten by a shark at the Forty Foot.

If close contacts go back 5 days it has more repercussions for limrik senior hurlers who have lots of connections with their u20 team!

Cork are being expected to give a walkover in an all Ireland final based on some dodgy test even though none of their players are sick. Society has lost the plot.

Lets not panic and overreact yet, postpone the match until those affected all test negative, and those u20 Limerick players involved with the seniors should be tested, if they test negative no worries and let the games continue.

What a moronic statement about the possible effects on young people.

Oh my God, you are slipping up- it has taken you a whole hour and a half to shoehorn Limerick into this debate- we must be foremost in your thoughts.

Strange then that one of these close contacts played this evening in Cork Intermediate final. That said, I would not like to win an AI by walkover and game should be refixed hopefully.

Wow this is just a point scoring exercise for you with your chip shots, this is potentially life threatening for some individuals involved. I always thought you were just annoying now I can see your sick.

The only thing wrong with his post was he failed to mention that the vast vast majority of people who are neither young or fit survive the virus unscathed too.

There almost zero - in fact statistically less than zero - serious effects on young people who get the virus.
