Yellow Cards Carrying Into Extra Time

(Oldest Posts First)

As per the above article yellow cards picked up in normal time DONT carry into extra time. Last week I watched a game where a player received a yellow in normal time and then a 2nd in extra time. The referee ordered the player off leaving the team with 14 players for remaining 20ish mins.

The referee clearly applied the rules incorrectly and team were severely punished as a result. This game was a final with promotion for the winner.

Have there been any other incidences of this since the rule changed in 2015?

I also thought that a team reduced to 14 could go back to 15 in extra time as that game is over. If it was a replay like in an all-Ireland final and not overtime they would have 15. May be I am wrong.

Theyre really stupid rules. extra time should always be a continuance of a game and in no way should a team go back to 15 if they had a player red carded in the opening 60/70 minutes of the game
and yellows should always carry into extra time. its the same game

I honestly could not remember if you went back to 15 and had also forgotten if you have the same compliment of subs again. Some how I seem to remember it both ways going back to 15 and recently continuing with 14. I need an education.

Two players, one from each side got black cards late in normal of the Ulster U20 Final tonight. Both of those cards carried in to extra time Canuck.
