Cork usually put it up to the Kingdom. But Kerry will be gunning for revenge after last Winters late goal and humiliation. Cork football is a pale shadow of what it once was. Kerry to win by at least ten points Marooning (Westmeath) - Posts: 24 - 22/07/2021 12:34:02 2362812 Link 1 |

Cork always have a chance because of the rivalry. No rivalry is a big in gaa sport. No counties have played each other more in any provence than Cork and Kerry. They have even played each other in two all ireland finals and 4 semis. That gas never happened with teams from the same provence. Kerry Cork always take on a life of their own. Kerry should win but no shock if Cork won either. Cork always play their best football v Kerry and they have some really class players. Have to agree. Kerry by at least 10 seems right. There will be no repeat of last year's snatch and grab. Also,Kerry will approach Cork in a completely different spirit this time. They will have learned a lot from last year's match.

As Powter says, he fully expects to beat Kerry in their own backyard so I give the lads every chance. It doesn't get bigger than this for us. Cork by 2. lilylanger (Kildare) - Posts: 758 - 22/07/2021 13:19:50 2362839 Link 1 |
Kerry on their own patch against a Cork team that blows hot and cold, points to convincing Kerry win. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8571 - 22/07/2021 13:30:56 2362841 Link 1 |

You'd have to think that Kerry should be winning this game by 5+ pts jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20587 - 22/07/2021 18:22:56 2362941 Link 2 |
Cathal O Mahony and Ciaran Sheehan are big losses, presuming they're unavailable. Even so, looking through that Cork team and there is so much quality, Meehan at centre back looks a great young player. You always feel Cork can match division 1 teams in terms of athleticism, which is a big plus. But you just cant predict which Cork team will turn up 97Cavans (Cavan) - Posts: 306 - 22/07/2021 19:00:53 2362950 Link 0 |

A chance? Yes we have a chance. How big? Not very big. It could get very ugly for us. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 22/07/2021 23:37:14 2363037 Link 2 |
I fear a 2018 style beating. Kerry could really go to town on us. At times in the league & championship game against Limerick we were very open to goal chances. St.Mologga (Cork) - Posts: 94 - 23/07/2021 18:39:30 2363243 Link 1 |
I think we'll certainly lose. The only question is by how much. Midleton (Cork) - Posts: 643 - 23/07/2021 21:43:00 2363293 Link 1 |
I remember Tyrone being nipped by Sligo in 2002, and Fermanagh getting the backlash of that in 2003. Kerry has to be switched on for this one. However, Cork will also love to prove a few people wrong, so it will be competitive, and should be a good enough game - for a while. Kerry to win. Even if not by a big amount, they will not care. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 23/07/2021 22:33:25 2363302 Link 0 |
Even when Cork were in my opinion the best team in the country (albeit had mental breakdowns in Croker against Kerry) we never won in Killarney. The best we did was get the draw and then win in Cork in a replay. BaldyBadger (Cork) - Posts: 311 - 24/07/2021 07:16:49 2363337 Link 0 |
I July 1987, Cork drew with Kerry in the Pairc with a last-second free from Larry Tompkins and then went to Killarney and beat Kerry well in the replay.

David Clifford and Sean O' Shea are tough to handle. This Kerry team is good, and probably only team that can topple the Dubs. Kerry's defense however is suspect, but like Brazil in 1970's a potent attack can offset this. It's good to be in a Munster Final in Killarney! Snowballs chance in hell comes to mind after todays result in Killarney, think this Kerry team is the real deal, last years sucker punch really shook them into life, Kerry for Sam? Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2705 - 25/07/2021 18:59:11 2364006 Link 1 |
