Venues For Semi Finals

So Kerry have home advantage against Tyrone which is fair enough given that they won their group. So given that Donegal won their group, why don't they get to have home advantage. Why do Dublin get to have a coin toss?
Yet another example if the unlevel playing field when it comes to Dublin.

Home advantage is given to the county who had only 1 home game in the league as opposed to two.

Where both counties had the same amount of home games then it's a draw for home advantage.

It's nothing to do with finishing top.

I haven't a clue, but I'm guessing it's to do with the number of home and away games already played in the group. But in classic GAA fashion, this rule isn't documented anywhere, and everyone has to guess (including me, right now).

Oh be quiet will you. Dublin's success and annual coronation is great for the Association. You ungrateful oiks and culchies in the other 31 counties don't know what's good for you. Eat up your porridge and be thankful.

Good to know.

You'd have thought it should be something along the lines of if you both had the same number of home games then the group winner should get home advantage over the runner up.

Probably explained better in the post below yours, but yeah, Dublin getting an unfair advantage sounds edgier and will get the likes here I guess.

It will be a non-event in any case. I cannot see Bonner risking too many of our main men with the preliminary against Down in Ulster so close afterwards. Play it on the moon for all I care.

What's the point in having semi finals when there will be no final? only in Ireland, it's as clear as mud how these leagues are finishing up, absolute joke.
not that I care too much about it but it seems the teams that were caught breaking the lockdown rules have benefited from it, with Monaghan being given home advantage against Galway, and where's the sense in dragging Tyrone all the way to Kerry to play a pointless game? at least play it somewhere halfway between them.

Well if Tyrone and Dublin win there Will be a final. Agreed the proper thing would be neutral venues.

As a Monaghan man I have to say I feel embarrassed that the already decided rules would give a superpower like us home advantage, you would think we have enough advantages without giving us more over poor Galway. This how you Dubs feel
Would yez all grow up, we'd play them in Kilarney if requested. The fixture rules were there before the league started, we took our punishment, I think playing Armagh away has cost us more than people know, benefited??? move on

If one of Donegal or Kerry progress there won't be a league final, no. Teams who are playing Championship on the 26th/27th of June won't play in the league final the previous week.

Ask the geniuses in the GAA who came up with the idea for this mess, clowns.

Its ridiculous it should either be a neutral venue or the team that places higher gets home advantage but it isnt set up to bend the rules.for Dublin. It's just the GAA making no sense again

Galway finished 3rd and Monaghan finished 4th but we have to travel to them for relegation (a lot more important than a semi final) . They get home advantage because they had less home games....they had less home games because they got caught breaking restrictions

Were Dublin and Monaghan not banned from having any home league games?
How do they both now, have home games for the semis?

They lost one home match as punishment.
