Galway getting beat out of the door. Kerry playing really well. Clifford has 3 goals. Hope Galway can get a goal before the end. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2519 - 15/05/2021 16:17:33 2341927 Link 1 |

Horrible display by Galway. I'm very disappointed but it's one game. Surely they are better than this. Sigh.

That was a procession for Kerry. Galway look like they have a lot of work to do to get themselves up to the standard Kerry are at going on today's performance but then again Galway were poor so maybe a bad one to judge either on. Huge difference in fitness levels. Clifford is unreal & the brother not too shabby either. Expected a better performance from Galway - they are better than that performance. They just not able to keep up with Kerry today. greysoil (Monaghan) - Posts: 965 - 15/05/2021 16:57:12 2341959 Link 0 |

Wow some gap there. Where now for this Galway team ? All the promise all the talent. Is it all been wasted by wrong management over past number of years ? royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 15/05/2021 17:41:55 2341982 Link 0 |
Awful showing today from Galway. Kerry look like they have definitely been training more and were far fitter looking side. It would make you wonder a bit alright. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 15/05/2021 17:52:14 2341993 Link 4 |

Galway will be back. This was just a blip, a first match after 6 months out. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2519 - 15/05/2021 19:20:33 2342056 Link 2 |
Fitness was hardly the deciding factor when Kerry had the game won in the first 10 or 15 minutes.

Thank you suck alley but early days yet. I was very happy with Kerry s approach today. I have been advocating this style for a while as we have plenty of scoring forwards. Galway were very flat today and hope they get their game together quickly.

I wish I had your optimism. A blip isn't getting wallopped by over 20 points. It could have been a lot more too. Kerry could have walked in another 4 goals at least. It also can't be called a blip when the exact same thing happened in the league against Mayo last October. We were miles off the pace today. Work rate, effort and tackling was non-existent from throw-in. A quality team will tear you to shreds if you don't put it up to them physically. There wasn't a marker within yards of some of their forwards today and zero pressure on the ball going in. On so many occasions there was nobody tracking or capable of tracking their runners. Hard to see how we can turn anything around in the short time before the championship. Today will also knock the confidence of the players. Sorry and we will beat the Rossies next week.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Except to say Kerry are real contenders for the All Ireland. I think Galway will win Connacht but are unlikely to achieve anything more this year. There are no excuses for such a hammering but due to covid measures I understand players are travelling alone to matches? If that's the case, it's a long drive to Tralee if you're driving on your own...doesn't surprise me that they were flat and lacking team cohesion. Let's see how they do with a home match and if they'll bounce back next week before writing them off! PoolSturgeon (Galway) - Posts: 1903 - 15/05/2021 21:32:32 2342136 Link 0 |
Indeed they do

To be quite honest Galway just looked like they didn't want to be there, PJ didn't have his guys ready. I was stunned by their lack of effort and application all over the field. They are a talented team and they can bounce back but today was not a good day for PJ's tenure.
