I think Louth is a no brainer to top the group, after that it's between Carlow and Wexford for second spot, in that case I'll go with Louth and Carlow.

Louth won 1 game from 8 in 2020 between league and championship so wouldn't be calling them a no brainer even with Harte involved, both groups are wide open in my opinion.

If last years few games that Carew oversaw are anything to go by, then yes I think we will have a better more attack orientated game plan which will give us a better chance of winning games. He also seems willing to give players a chance to prove themselves and this will be very important. The fact that we have quite a few players hovering around or above the 30 mark will add experience which should prove itself in tight games. I will accept my crystal ball is no more accurate than anyone else's, my gut feeling is that Louth are fancied favorites as of now, you are correct in your analysis of Louth, however I think Louth have been playing frustrated football, they had it but couldn't get it together on the field, now they have Mickey Harte in charge who will put that right. Your own beloved Wexford were in a similar situation a few year back until Jason Ryan stepped in he waived his magic wand, low and behold Wexford and Ryan tore up the form book and they started playing national football dismissing teams at the highest level at their ease. Wexford have not been setting the football world on fire in recent times. Last year was awful for us but I think there was some extenuating circumstances around our record. In 2019, we drew with Westmeath in the final round and had we won that game, we were in division 2, last year some of that team didn't commit and the rumours were that the squad wasn't fully fit. This year we should have our strongest possible team and the best manager we could have, but it's completely up in the air, who will be promoted. It's crazy that even if you top your group you aren't promoted, so conceivably In one group you could win all three games and lose a semi final to a team that got there by winning one game.

You are right PK. It's a farcical situation that a team could win 3 matches and come up against a team in the semi-final that only won 1 match and lose it and not get promoted. A better solution would be: Division 1: Top two in North and South play each other in the semi-finals. 1 v 2 and 2 v 1. Winners of both semi's play each other in the final. Winner in the final is Division 1 Champions. Third in North and South play each other in a relegation play-off with the loser getting relegated to Division 2. Fourth in North and South are relegated to Division 2. Division 2: Top team in North and South are both promoted to Division 1 and play each other in the final. The winners win Division 2. The second team in North and South play each other in a promotion play-off with the winner getting promoted to Division 1. Third in North and South play each other in a relegation play-off with the loser getting relegated to Division 3. Fourth in North and South are relegated to Division 3. Division 3: Top team in North and South are both promoted to Division 2 and play each other in the final. The winners win Division 3. The second team in North and South play each other in a promotion play-off with the winner getting promoted to Division 2. Third in North and South play each other in a relegation play-off with the loser getting relegated to Division 4. Fourth in North and South are relegated to Division 4. Division 4: Top team in North and South are both promoted to Division 3 and play each other in the final. The winners win Division 4. According to the GAAs website the following is what is happening - where did you get this from? 2021 Allianz Football League structure The Allianz Football League will run from the weekend of May 15/16 to the weekend of June 19/20 with Divisions split into North and South as originally planned in December. Four teams will be in each group based on geography with three Round Robin games per team. The top two in each divisional group will advance to the league semi-finals followed by a league final. The bottom two in each divisional group will play relegation semi-finals with the two losers of those matches relegated. The bottom teams in Division 4 will play a Shield semi-final and final. League finals will only be played on June 19/20 if counties involved are not playing in the championship the following weekend. If they are, then joint winners will be declared for Division 1 and joint winners and promotion for Divisions 2, 3, and 4. Leitrim should get promoted i think. Terry Hyland is in his third year now with largely the same squad throughout those years. All other managers on our side are in their first year with very limited time with their squads. In a local Derby, anything could happen. Sligo always seem to have the bob of Leitrim. When did Leitrim last beat Sligo, in league or championship? It could very well happen on the weekend.
