Kerry have 14 sponsors listed on their website. A similar amount to Dublin no?

Well I read an article that stated most teams were between 4 and 5 grand a week but the biggest part of that was mileage expenses and it stated that would nt affect Dublin Cork City and Galway as much. It did say that McStay claimed to be spending 15 grand a week when he was with the Rossies but again most of his team were travelling big journeys which would account for that. In 2019 Mayo spent big but with back door and alot of away fixtures hotel bills etc add up. As I say no Mon no fun.

No I don't know how much money Kerry gaa have mick, and I wouldn't presume I do like you did with your Kerry have loads of money comment the other day. I'm all for equality and iv got no problem with what ever money we got in Kerry being shared with the so called weaker counties once it's done across the board and then I want equality in the game which means no reffs that works or lives in a particular can reff that counties games also games to be played in neutral venues even if it means supporters (including myself) miss out on certain games. Cork have 12. Dublin have 9. Very surprised at that. All the talk about Dublin having so many sponsors & divil a bit about Cork & Kerry.

I'm just after sering that the Gaa actually increased Dublin's percentage of funding again. Although down 600.000 their percentage was up as other counties received less. Now this is disappointing as we were led to believe that the gaa were starting to do things more fairly. However it seems the figure they said the gave Dublin was a mistake. A big mistake. The gaa said they gave Dublin 86.990 last year but when the truth now is the received 745.695e..Now I have always stayed the money thing is wrong but this is bizarre as false info was given out to the public but when John Connellan was promised figures it transpires the gaa made a mistake. Now while I agree again this is not Dublin's fault.the gaa once again are showing special treatment but trying to hide it too. Wrong is wrong every day of the week. Ah look there are sponsers and there are sponsers. I mean like Kerry group are a massive sponser but there are other sponser that are small time and just give small money. There is a club i know in Dublin has over 15 sponser but some are like a plumber working for himself and other are hefty enough. Some sponsers give a few 100e some 1000s and some tens of 1000s. The bigger high profile counties obviously get the best sponsers. Now Dublin are the highest profile and then Cork ré population etc. Kerry are lucky the Kerry group are a massive group. Smaller counties get less sponsership and understandably so. That's why I believe the gaa should give the poorer counties the big money as the elite don't need it anyway. Dublin Cork Kerry will always have the cash. Limerick blessed with JP.

On an aside about JP McManus. Even though his hotel the Adare Manor is closed he is paying the chefs and providing about 200 meals a day to front line staff. What a guy. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3678 - 17/02/2021 22:50:05 2331788 Link 0 |
The gaa can share money equally if they choose but the sponsership is tricky. A sponser might not want to sponser a county if some of it has to be shared and for obvolious reasons the big sponser want to go with the team that will advertise them the most I.e the teams that will be on TV the most and so on

Where was that Mick, I read through the annual accounts on Tuesday evening and our GDF was 89k. Something very odd going on if audited accounts are wrong!

The number of sponsors is irrelevant. It's the amount of money they give that counts.

Mick you're kinda making it out that the GAA are somehow a separate entity to dublin when most of the high up fellas running the GAA are or have been afilliated to dublin clubs at 1 stage or another.

How do we know how much each sponsor gives? So in the case of cork we know what the main sponsors of sports direct give as that has been announced. Same with AIG or The Kerry etc. Is there a breakdown of monies the other sponsors give or what way does it work?

Someone sent it to me from the mirror newspaper Username. The gaa said the figures were a mistake. They did say 86k the other day but it was 770k or thereabouts

I'm sure it can be found out as all sponser would declare because of tax write offs etc. As Ivw stated already though some sponser are very low scale for example a laundrette washing the jerseys for free is a sponser but they. might not give money.

Kboy of course the Gaa are are seperate entity from Dublin. The gaa like to see Dublin do well as they can bring in the money but they totally seperate. On the money I don't think you understand either While I agree it's unfair the money is for coaching and does nt go to the senior intercounty teams. Dubs senior teams are mainly looked after by sponser like ourselves CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3678 - 18/02/2021 11:21:51 2331832 Link 0 |
