Pick 3

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Just something to do instead of talking about covid-19, splitting counties and how football is in trouble and to have a bit of craic between posters.

Pick 3 players from your county, pick 3 players from other counties than your own that made you first fall in love with hurling and Gaelic football in your youth (can be club players too) and nominate 3 other posters to give their picks.

Hurling

Limerick: Ciaran Carey, Gary Kirby, Mike Houlihan

Other counties: Dj Carey, Sparrow O'Loughan, Brian Whelehan

Football

Limerick: John Quane, John Galvin, Stephen Kelly

Other counties: Mickey Linden, Charlie Redmond, Trevor Giles.

I would like to nominate GreenandRed(Mayo), Oldtourman(Limerick), Crinigan(Meath) to give their picks. Come on lads don't leave me hanging.

I'll finish by wishing every poster a Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you and your families and hopefully we will all have a healthy and enjoyable 2021.

Thanks for the nomination CiarraiMick.

When Frank McGuigan was over here for years in the 70's and 80's, we truly witnessed total magic. People in Ireland only really saw him at the beginning and end of his career.

Outside of New York!

Hurling: Eamon Cregan, Jimmy Barry Murphy and Frank Cummins, he was colossal.

Football: Guys like Willie Bryan and Declan Barron started it, and Matt Connor continued it.

I forgot to nominate, so here goes: Limericklass in Limerick-a great judge of hurling, the Horsebox in Kerry-a sound and objective man about football, and Tom Smith in Cavan who is mightily entertaining, a throw back to pre-WW II.

Very surprised that you haven't named a few Limerick hurlers. You seem to be awestruck by them.
