I agree it would be a different story if it was a more high profile team but thats the media for you. Fermanagh were in a pretty similar position a few weeks ago and even ourselves to a certain extent when we were down our manager and 14 players due to covid against Cavan in the league. While this is the first outbreak that has hit a team for Championship it may be the case should they still have players available to turn up the game should go ahead.

There is space for this game to be pushed back. Connacht final would have to go back as well but then it would be the same weekend as the other provinces.

Plenty of pressure though to not be the one to say he wasn't going to play Look at the vote the GPA had 25% felt it shouldn't go ahead, close to the same said it should only go ahead if proper health and safety was put in place to prevent outbreaks You can see why with this outbreak.. and whatever guidlines have obviously been not good enough in Sligo I've no doubt a large % of players would rather not be playing at the moment but were under pressure to still turn up We're meant to be doing all we can at present to slow down the spread of covid-19 and this example is simply not good enough in this climate. I wish the Sligo panel all the best and hope there's no far reaching consequences of this on their families. But what choice did those who they have spread it on to have?? It's remarkably selfish of the GAA to go ahead with the championship. The players and the communities in each county should not be put in this position.

I'd prefer to read a book over needlessly jeopardizing the health of our amateur players and their families because the GAA don't want to have the fallout of dealing with broadcasting rights

Sure. You'll be watching if Dublin get to the final. NPHET said running the Championship was fine and the case numbers are slowly coming down so get off your high horse.

Of course NPHET want the championship to go ahead sure isn't Tony a Limerick man and a member of a Dublin club so it's gonna be win win for him come December : )

Indeed and for the record the GAA for ready to postpone the championship once the country went into level 5 but since then medical experts gave their strong advice to government that the championship was good to go in level 5. I agree, big mistake going ahead with this championship, there is a lot better things to be watching and doing than looking at facile games on TV.

Can yourself and Stmunnsriver care to elaborate what on TV does interest you? For me i have enjoyed the NFL and Championship viewing thus far and looking forward to watching a few games this weekend.
