Replying To Galway9801:  "Cheating is wrong."
Hope all teams run at Galway for goals from now on as they won't be fouled.

Both of them part of the game. Bending the rules to your team's advantage.

Sorry for the intrusion, nothing personal zinny and this is not a Trolling exercise but to say galwayford is absolutely correct and right, same thing applies right across our games our games, the gaa is a game of equality now and all that, I know exactly what he is saying, it's akin to Carlow football / hurling teams not getting a mention on Sunday sport (radio) or a mention of the Carlow senior hurling performances in their Joe Mc Donagh games, the only mention that they did get was as a result of drawing with fancied favourites high profile Kerry who by some are expected to win it out, - we'll see. Rant over with no regrets except to say, galwayford is absolutely correct.

Replying To GreenandRed:  "Where would you class standing offside in rugby to gain advantage, inviting contact in basketball to win free throws?"
there is a big difference in someone fouling while attempting a tackle than someone just cynically fouling. even grabbing a jersey when in the act of trying to tackle is often just instinctive rather than a deliberate cynical act (although it often is cynical)

inviting contact is not cheating, u are tempting the opponent to make a decision. they dont have to make that decision to tackle

we all know the difference between cynical and non cynical fouls

RTE showing their true colours today, all day coverage of their new king being crowned,
and to think we are forced to pat a licence fee pay for it.

Well, You know what to do.

Disgrace that the national broadcaster is devoting 4 hours to this when anyone who wants to see it is perfectly free to do so on actual British channels.

I wonder how many state broadcasters around the world are doing the same as RTÉ?

If you don't have a licence you are breaking the law, getting rid of the tv altogether isn't going to work either so what do you do?

If all players were good boys and girls we wouldn't need refs.

Only in the 6, Tom, do you have a king. Ireland has 32 counties, but Ireland is 26 counties. The other 6 are part of the United Kingdom. It's quite easy to understand actually. Of course, things could change…

…. Perhaps, Armagh might even win a second AI. The one looks very bare alone, compared to those numerous ones of Down, Cavan, Tyrone, and even Donegal's two. And perhaps Armagh might also even produce a decent rugby player to play for Ireland. Perhaps!

One never knows, does one?

RTEand the GAA by the way are shocking, another cracking hurling match last night last and no live coverage to go with the Clare v limerick match last week, the only reason I really watch RTE is for the hurling and GAA but the coverage has been shocking this year, hurling needs as much free exposure as possible and the GAA and RTE need to have a long look at themselves or changes have to be made at the top!

RTE treat GAA fans badly really. But they fawn all over Irish rugby.

It's an absolute disgrace, showing this pap on rte1 and rte news channel.....we had another absolute classic in munster hurling championship last night which could only be seen on ppv

Two cracking games on GaaGo. Not everyone has that channel. The GAA have opted for a pay channel for certain matches. I can't see it change unfortunately.

That's down to the gaa rather than RTE I'd say. The Gaa have matches such as Cork v Tipp last night behind the gaa go paywall. It's a real pity. I can afford to pay for the match but I couldn't login to gaago for the match last night. I listened on Rte radio where coverage was shared with the Munster rugby match.

GAAGO is part of RTÉ which makes the whole paywall thing and not showing games like the Tipp/Cork one look pretty cynical.

If they claim to be a national broadcaster then they do have an obligation to cover things that are of mass public interest. Like the Munster hurling championship, not minority sports attended by derisory amounts of people.

As Tom Dempsey of Wexford pointed out, if they could show every match in the soccer world cup, then they ought to be able to show our own games.
