I'm fairly sure they did one on Browne a few years ago, but Matty Forde is a must sooner or later

Correct, it's all about personalities & stories to tell, the "celebrity" status & the number of followers you have on Twitter & Instagram. It's all about "I " now, what's in it for me, spin an auld sceal or two & your made. Forget about the players who performed between the white lines who were legends of the game but we're just quiet individuals off it, as their story won't boost ratings & yes it shouldn't be about most medals won, don't know where that comes into it. Including a recent Mayo man on Laochra Gael just re emphasises the point, he wouldn't lace the boots of players such as Maurice Fitzgerald or Michael Donnellan or Mikey Sheehy, but he has plenty of "personality" & stories to tell."]Ok so you had a problem with David Brady getting a slot...I wouldn't be Brady's biggest fan but saw much commentary on this online and people getting upset he was on it...."sure he was no all Ireland medal" was a common theme....which is not true for anyone that follows GAA...he has a club all Ireland with Ballina. I believe Maurice fitz and Donnallan have been covered...anyone else they have left out? Maybe you should write to Galway based TG4 and air your grievance"]The smart ass reply, nobody can post anything on here without one of the resident experts throwing out there barb. Fact is neither Maurice Fitzgerald or Michael Donnellan have been covered & on the field they would put that player mentioned in the ha'penny place. Ironic too that in one of your posts you mentioned it's not about medals & then you go & reference medals. Need to start making up your mind, I will speak mine. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1212 - 07/03/2020 21:28:36 2272709 Link 0 |

But it is something against Kerry like always with you. I'm sure you'd have no issues with 4/5 Dublin players being profiled. oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1380 - 08/03/2020 16:28:11 2272841 Link 4 |

Beano McDonald would be a class with Matty Forde to, TG4 needs to go a bit Suil Eile with this. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 08/03/2020 19:50:09 2272880 Link 4 |

Watched it back last night, Donaghy comes across as a reflective and affable individual. I read his autobiography (which is one of the better GAA tomes, in my opinion) and was aware of his difficult relationship with his father, which he goes a bit further into in the doc. Maurice Fitz in particular seems to be a quietly-spoken type. Achievements on the field don't necessarily make for an interesting interview, either. I've read autobiographies from serial All-Ireland winners that have been the most dreadful dross ever to hit the shelves. Multiply this tenfold for top professional soccer players.
