Just revisiting this in light of the article in the Meath Chronicle this week stating there were clearly more than the legally permitted crowd in Páirc Tailteann at the weekend, with photos and all. You can't use the excuse that the author doesn't know what PT is like either, since Jimmy Geoghegan has spent more time in PT than just about anyone alive.

As for slandering your friend; you're the one who brought him in to the conversation and attached his name to a patently false claim.

I mightn't know that much but the country didn't come to a stand still for the 9000 deaths from cancer each year or the 10000 deaths each year from heart problems, not counting drinking , suicide and so on. Would you tell someone to stop smoking or drinking because their putting health service under pressure? I'd think not.

It is a hard call but you have to accept the science and expertise advice. No one on here would go to the cobbler with a tooth problem. So selective acceptance of qualified advice is not on. If the government and health authorities do not inform and instruct you that is negligence and I am sure there would be a public out cry down the road calling it homicidal behaviour. Yes people may be fed up but I guarantee you they are not people that had to bury a family member or friend. They are people who feel they have no skin in the problem. ! YET !
Simple follow the rules and advice and we may get our beloved games in some form. If not accept why. Or be idiots make people sick and ruin it for everyone else. Especially those that are games are a form of therapy for.

Trying to use one experience fit all with this virus is ridiculous, selfish, shows an absence of emphaty and being disingenuous. The death count is the death count and people can distances themselves from it as much as they like, it is fact. Put you masks on, wash your hands and social distance. If there is even the slightest chance that will save one life of an old person, a young person or someone with underline conditions thank you and god bless. If not stop the deflections and admit you don't give a **** which seems to be stance of far too many.

Results go the right way starting with Armagh doing Cavan a favour there'll be very little travelling next year.

None of these are communicable diseases. And yes people are told to stop drinking,smoking, lose weight etc because they are putting the health service under strain and it's getting worse.
There are constant warnings about obesity and the impact it's having on the health service. Every country is trying to do something about it, sugar taxes, size limits etc.

I see now they are thinking of bringing in fines for not wearing masks or staying within your counties boundary etc, going to some fun trying to enforce that on people who refuse to pay,
there aren't enough courts to handle it and who will they have sitting in judgement? Seamus Woulfe? or maybe he's too busy playing golf and having big dinners with bankers and politicians, great wee country all the same.
up here they should have let the Donegal senior football final go ahead this weekend behind closed doors and called a day to it after that, can't see the Ulster Championship being viable now with the way things are, every county panel is going to have cases, it's out of control in Ulster.

Why shouldnt they bring in the fines? We have to do something to reduce the number of cases. We stayed within the limits by and large earlier in the year so should be able to do it again.
