he just doesn't seem to get it. what rte and people in general were sick of was he was spouting the same thing in every game. very generic criticisms. many of them were accurate but we heard u last week joe....and the week before, and before etc! Sure his comments in the hoganstand article said it all. "And that's what fostered the public conversation. Whatever it was, whether you were right or wrong, that's what made for conversation." The fella was a bespectacled version of Punch and Judy - often times he would have a conversation with himself pure pantomime. gormdubhgorm (Dublin) - Posts: 990 - 16/01/2020 18:42:52 2260285 Link 0 |

Personally I was for the sky deal. €30m over 5 years is a serious amount of money while at the same time terrestrial TV showed more games than previous years. It also showcased our unique games to an audience that had never seen them. I can see however how GAA people from the 6 counties could be totally against it. After all they had gone through horrendous times at the hands of the British establishment. Sky would traditionally be seen as another big British establishment so it must be very difficult for them to see that deal go through. As they say "time is a great healer" so with time and the fact that it's eir sport I can see why Brolly did a U turn. At the end of the day he is a true GAA man. We don't have to agree with all he says but we have to admit we love his pontificating rants. Seeking_silver (Limerick) - Posts: 411 - 18/01/2020 21:33:00 2260672 Link 1 |
