Will this team be strong this year? Anyone to watch out for?

This is the first 20's team that won the Leinster 17's and is now full age. It all depends on whether county seniors can play. They couldn't last year, but now that the competition starts in around February they might be allowed. If that's the case the team is extremely strong on paper. We could pick forwards from Aaron Lynch, Shane Walsh, Matt Costello, Jack O'Connor, Luke Mitchell, Jordan Morris. So loads of scoring forwards but obviously couldn't play them all. If the Senior aren't allowed played I'd expect 2 or 3 of them not to be there. Cian McBride is a massive loss but Daithi McGowan and maybe Liam Byrne could do a job there. I would be really confident were it not for the massive disappointment of last year

In the backs Sean Brazil and Ben Wyer must come into the reckoning
Both played on Ratoath s Senior team throughout the championship this year and were excellent

Hope so. Continuity between a successful minor manager and an under 20/21's squad is always good in my opinion

Are they both still underage next year ? backs are solid . Cathal Hickey, Harry O'Higgins, Sean Ryan, Oran Smullen, James O'Hare. And I'm probably missing 1 or 2 who have made impacts with their club since being under 17

From someone who has been to many underage matches throughout the past decade or just under I must say that we should have more than enough of the quality to go well in this competition. The likes of lynch oconnor and Morris up top with the help of ohare ohiggins and coffey at the back. Mcbride will be a huge loss obviously in midfield. We should have a big look at the under 21s competitions and pick from there too. I know they can't get over the line at adult level but "the bracks" are a team who have dominated at underage for a long time at various levels and grades but are often overlooked in county set up. They should definitely have a few in the squad. Obviously sean coffey was instrumental for the minors 2 years ago, his brother also should definitely be looked at. Serious pair of footballers. This year Also has a few minors I believe. Bannon obviously has got his run with county teams too so will be looked at. Kavanagh looks a good option there too up front from the 21s last year and from underage. O'Brien also from 21s last year and heard he had a blinder last week marking O'Connor. Something that senior footballers couldn't do this year.

They are both 18

Wyer is a super footballer and can mark too!! Brazil is a good marker and is developing into a nice foitballer! Sean Ryan from dunboyne is eligible next year and is a super player

Leinster draw made. Playing Carlow/Wexford in the quarter. Then it would be Dublin/Wicklow/Longford in a semi final. Venues not confirmed yet

Good stuff. All we need now is a manager or are the team gonna manage themselves?? I'd have thought they would have been back training a couple of weeks at this stage

Under 21 championships still on. And if you go back straight away then you've no break at all. Wouldn't get them training for a while I'd say

Well the competition is starting earlier next year, so they would need to start doing something now. Possibly an idea for the players to be senior squad at this time of the year then seperate come January for when a greater focus comes to actual football rather then fitness.

Any word on the Manager for the 20's yet or do you think they are waiting for the county convention to be held ? Believe that is the 16th of December.

With the 20's moving to the early part of the year and the aim for the 20's final to replace the club finals on Patrick's Day you would have to think the provincials will start in mid to late January at the latest.

I assume any 20's with the Senior Squad will be ineligible for 20's - thinking specifically - Shane Walsh.

Be fairly making a mockery of the competition if any U 20's with Seniors were ineligible, with it being brought forward there is no reason for players eligible not to be playing
