Was not a red card, Fitz dropped his head and O'Connor caught him high, it was a yellow card all day,
Funny you don't mention the other two Ballintudder yellows for exactly the same tackles.

That would be a red card in Croke Park as well as the other 2 on Ballintubber. There should have been a red on Corofin for the high challenge towards towards the end also but the ref had to stay consistent. Clothesline tackles are red. Ref also gave Ballintubber a yellow instead of a black another time. Essentially the ref kept them in the game by his interpretation of the rules. O Connor is a high profile player who lives on the edge and he was lucky yesterday. Sean Og de Paor seemed to speculate that Ballintubber might have a tactic to pick up single yellows to disrupt the opposition. Professional yellows.

The only that came close to a red was the first one where there was force used, in C.O.C incident there was no force and an open hand, also Kieran Fitz lowered his body which brought the tackle higher, just my opinon

I was at the game yesterday and Kieran Fitzgerald put his head down when O'Connor made the tackle. It looked bad no doubt but it was the correct call. I watched it back last night as I had the game recorded. Cillian made contact with an open hand too so there was no malice in it.

Having watched the game again I believe O'Connor should have got a penalty in the first half. He was clearly fouled in the small square when trying to get to the ball. Many refs would have given a penalty but the ref yesterday didn't.

Ballintubber have a grievance with the free given to corofin in the lead up to their goal. Alan plunkett was pulled for overcarrying which was unbelievably harsh. Lundy got the ball from the free and took 9 steps before laying it off to farragher yet Lundy wasn't pulled up on overcarrying. One rule for corofin and another rule for other teams.

Corofin are a fine team and good luck to them. But they get a lot of dubious decisions from referees against other teams. In Last years Galway county final Mountbellew/Moylough were robbed and are still annoyed over it. this year Tuam stars got penalised very harshly at the end in the drawn game when the ref awarded corofin a scorable free when it should have been a free out for Tuam. Anyways Corofin won't care and good luck to them. They will be hard stopped this year

Cillian does play on the edge and sometimes over it. I don't think it was a red in this occasion but I've seen him in other club games in mayo where he should have been red carded and was not.

I think on the game Ballintubber can only blame themselves. They learnt nothing since last year, are too defensive and offer no imagination in attack. Good enough to win mayo but not good enough to beat a team like Corofin.

Corofin went 6 up but started making subs and it appeared they thought they had it won which was surprising with a team of their experience.

Don't think Corofin are as good as last year but they will likely win Connacht and who knows after that...they are probably still the team to beat.

Ballintubber cleverly used the card system to stay in the game, they would be steam rolled in later stages. Corofin can improve for sure.

The 1st one was not even a card. Michael Plunkett tackled chest high but the Corofin player fell to ground dramatically holding his head. Cillian deserved a yellow and got a yellow.

Id worry for Gary Sice health in later years with the amount of 'head injuries' he does go down with in games..

Because he has started to develop a habit of connecting them with opponents' heads.

Think he meant side could suffer from all the hits he Recieved. Boyle on the other hand is usually given out the dirty hits
