I don't feel clueless and I don't think Murphy was All Star material this year, that's called an opinion not being clueless.

Had to give cluxton an all star as they had him lined up for footballer if the year...didn't matter that Patton was exceptional all year..looks like that's the last we have seen of cluxton...big hint that he won't be back!

Congrats Stevo on player of the year, long overdue.

I'll admit I was a bit concerned, David Clarke was going to sneak in there at the end just before it was announced! :D

Con very unlucky, but it's coming , he's still very young with plenty of head room.

Delighted Cluxton got the POTY and we'll deserved. Up there with his best ever years for Dublin and first Goalkeeper to win the award I think.

I said people who thought Murphy wasn't close are clueless. Maybe you thought it was a close call. Either way, he was the standout player in almost every match he played so I'm not sure what else you need to do to be an All Star. And when people haven't watched games and make baseless, lazy comments then that is a clueless 'opinion.'

Wasn't that he wouldn't get one cos everyone knew he would. It was the fact he shouldn't get one. Two different things.

Oh what! What?"
Well I would have rather seen a half back actually picked in the half back position, that really should be a pre requisite

Howard getting an all star for center half back is what's wrong the all stars giving players an all star for positions they don't play just to accommodate them ,Howard deserved an all star for a position in the half forward line instead of Murphy and not taking an all star away from Boyle or keoghan

He should get one absolutely if you watched his performances. And if you 'knew' he would then I hope you put your life savings on it, amazing foresight.

Well to to Steven cluxton he finally got the awards he deserves Brian Howard absolutely deserves an all star but can anyone answer how he got centre back if 1. He didn't play there all year and 2. More importantly he wasn't nominated in the defense
As far as I'm concerned that just does not add up
James McCarthy Colm Boyle or Donal Keoghan surely should have got the nod here

Agreed , that's the sort of silly stuff that shouldn't happen but happens every year.

Beyond embarrassing how anyone here thinks that Michael Murphy shouldn't get an all star. Outstanding in every match. The Meath posters here certainly entitled to their opinion but to suggest Keoghan should get an all star and their pitiful Leinster final display. Laughable

Can you not just savior the moment wothout having a dig it belitteling a Mayo players all star? Seriously is that much to ask? Nearly every Dublin fan forum has constant jibes at Mayo and yeah some are funny but the same aul crap every week wears thin....

He got his award on merit, Donegal lost one championship game all year, mayo and Tyrone can lose 3!! No all star for connacht champions either!! B run up some big scores in a few back door games and you can keep Paul geaney out of the team....

Congratulations to all the recipients, particularly Stephen Cluxton on his POTY award which was a long time coming.

Given how much time half forwards spend defending now perhaps Brian Howard's selection in the half back line is not as outrageous as it initially seems. I can understand why it annoys people but positions mean very little in football any more. He certainly deserved to be on the team, as did Murphy.

Oh wait! This is sponsored by the GPA which is a dublin oriented organisation who has just given M. Murphy a big job. PS, this is written before I know Murphy will get one but guessing Howard moved into backs to accommodate him."
Small didn't get an All-Star buddy.

Replying To Kepak10:  "I would have accepted Colm Boyle or James McCarthy getting no.6 ahead of Keoghan but Brian Howard.....WTF ?

Shaun Patton had a super year should we stick him in the half forward line ?

All Stars = no credibility !"
Agreed completely.

Giving Brian Howard an all star @ #6 is absolutely bulls#@t. Yes I am biased slightly and would have given Donal Keoghan an award in half backs, but definitely think, Colm Boyle, James McCarthy, Niall Daly should all have received the award ahead of Howard, for nothong other than the fact that they actually played in the backs. Sure even in highlight clips, Howard is wearing #12 in every picture.

Don't get me wrong Howard is a fabulous footballer but he never played in defence all year bar 35 minutes in the drawn All Ireland. I felt it was wrong giving Howard a midfield berth last year, just as the #3 spot to Colm Cavanagh, but its getting embarassing now.

Ridiculous stuff really. Shame on the GPA GAA All Star committee.
