GAA Conspiracy Theories - DC Has He Been Back The Whole Time?

(Oldest Posts First)

Here's my GAA conspiracy theories, have you got any of your own ?

I believe that Diarmuid Connolly, Jim Gavin and Bryan Cullen (Dublin S&C coach) have meticulously planned every aspect of this return, and the timing of it, and the players have been aware of the situation and what was happening throughout the whole league and championship campaign to date. I dont believe Diarmuid was going to the US at all, and that story was deliberately given to the media by Dublin along with the "the door is always open" to mislead people into thinking he wasn't around, meanwhile in reality, Diarmuid has been training away one on one with Bryan Cullen on a strength and conditioning program from the spring (This isn't so far fetched, it was reported in numerous papers that this was the case), Getting game time here and there for the club, keeping himself ticking over and throughout the spring but purposely keeping himself in shape for that 5 or 10 minutes later on in the year where he might be needed as a bit of a trick up their sleeve, totally flummoxing everyone and having a great big laugh at everyones expense.

No. Whats the benefit in all that?

DC being there or not doesn't alter how Dublin play and DC playing doesn't radically change how teams will prepare and set up for Dublin. He is a top class player and will probably make Dublin harder to beat but it doesn't fundamentally change how Dublin will play and how teams will try to beat Dublin.

It's a good one waynol but i don't think so....his transfer from St. Vincent's to play is n the States was done legit through the GAA. Whatever the ins and outs of this...saga, I'm just glad he is available again as an option to Jim Gavin.

I dont think anyone outside Dublin is bothered in what he is doing or whether he will play again this year. Dublin have not been struggling for scores and if he does come back fair play to him. Most people have Dublin far ahead at this stage and whoever beats them will have to do something special, Connolly or not.
