Kingdomboy coming on here ruining every thread with the same stuff is not going to make any difference to the Gaa hierarchy. You left the main page a few years back cause you couldn't take the abuse Kerry we're getting yet your the worst fella on here for giving it out. Can you not just stick to talking about the games instead of being a broken record?

My god what a pessimistic post. I'd be shocked if there were more than 3 points in every game you mention. Cork, Meath, Roscommon have all earned the right to be here and play the top teams. If they are to progress they have to play the best at some stage. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4518 - 08/07/2019 17:15:01 2208007 Link 10 |
.???? Don't understand this, am I missing something? It's verrry likely Dublin will play Mayo or Kerry in the semis and Donegal in the final..

Some brilliant games so far and the next few weeks will be brilliant! TheRock2121 (Donegal) - Posts: 1208 - 08/07/2019 19:56:01 2208096 Link 1 |
Even though we're in the group with the only 3 teams that I think that have any chance of stopping the 5 in a row I would not be terribly surprised if we win one of these games. Mayo are a funny championship team, they are capable of brilliance in one off games but also capable of losing to teams below them. Donegal game seems the most daunting, up in Donegal, in Michael Murphy they have by far the country's best footballer, we have done well against them in the league but this is obviously going to be harder. Kerry still have questions hanging over them, Cork and Clare did better against them then expected. bdbuddah (Meath) - Posts: 1413 - 08/07/2019 20:42:52 2208136 Link 2 |
This is our 3rd year in a row in quarters twice as connacht champions We will probably only have 3 or 4 of last years starting 15 against tyrone from corresponding fixture. If we arent a top 8 side who is. Its the jump into top 4 that is huge. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1792 - 08/07/2019 22:08:19 2208207 Link 1 |
Completely agree. The post I was responding to mentioned Roscommon v Dublin as likely to be a drubbing. Roscommon have more than earned their right to be playing Dublin in the later stages. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4518 - 09/07/2019 11:20:30 2208358 Link 8 |
Donegal, Kerry and Mayo are putting in a big effort to try and crack the professional code alright. Tyrone are making huge efforts. The professional English women are dominating the amateur Six Nations. It's difficult for any amateur teams to compete against that.

In the championship there is Dublin, who are by far the best. There is 4 (maybe 3) teams who, if everything goes right might put it up to Dublin on a given day and have a shot at beating them in the championship. After that the rest of division 1 and 2 who on a given day could beat each other but would be unlikely to beat the top few teams in the championship (Roscommon and maybe Galway (I would have said Monaghan last year) are the best of these, but it would not be a huge surprise if any of these beat another on a given day)

3 years ago ye lost the 1/4 by 25+ points , last year ye lost all 3 games. This year a win and experience would be good progression. Definitely capable of putting it upto Tyrone and I'd fancy ye to beat Cork. A semi final isn't a unrealistic target for Roscommon.

England's professional dominance of the Women's Six Nations is similar. It is what it is. Rural counties are putting in an incredible effort. There is that gap to professional advantages. That's the result of big financial investment. There will an interesting battle between Cork, Roscommon and Tyrone for the second semi-final spot. Roscommon need a big performance in the Super 8s. There's no better place than in front of their home support before their away neutral game against a fellow provincial champion. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8772 - 09/07/2019 21:17:53 2208678 Link 2 |

super 8 has to go. there needs to be something more for the weaker team . the stronger teams enjoy hammering the weaker teams this is not fair in my view. i felt really sorry for cavan lor12 (Wicklow) - Posts: 250 - 09/07/2019 23:45:56 2208790 Link 1 |
Kerry v Mayo is the hardest one to predict this weekend. I will go for Mayo as getting matches over the last 3 weeks maybe better than resting up as Kerry are. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1792 - 10/07/2019 08:00:52 2208833 Link 0 |
There is no place for weaker teams at the business end of the All Ireland series. They are not good enough & if they are not willing to play in a championship with teams of a similar standard then wallopings is all the waits for them. As for feeling sorry for Cavan, why? They gave it their best shot, reached their first Ulster final in years & have plenty to build on in the coming years. I can think of a lot of counties in worse shape than Cavan. That "fellow provincial champion" are only there because of geography. Munster remains the top tier province with giants of the game like Kerry, Cork and Clare!.

Does it say something that you avoid the point about professional dominance of an amateur Six Nations? Heavy investment can buy sporting success. It's part and parcel of the GAA's current funding model.
