Tom cunniffe hit Peter Harte a fierce shoulder a few years ago. Harte had to go off with a pelvic injury after it.

Ciaran Duff '83 Final.... sorry that wasn't a fair hit, just kick a man in the face while lying helpless on the ground.

I remember that one. It was a big hit but an illegal one I would say. If I recall harte was bending down to pick the ball up and Tom flattened him in a vulnerable position

Ironically Neil didn't have to do anything. Stephen came in like a raging bull and just bunched off neil. I remember stephen lay on the ground for a right while after that hit. He def didn't recover from it for the rest of the game

It was a tight call whether it was legal, 0.46 in above. Slow it down to 1/4 speed but remember ref sees it in real time. I think Harte had the ball when Tom committed to shoulder him, Harte lost the ball but Tom's momentum took him into the hit.

Funny how the Donegal men in those clips are the receiving end of all the hits, it's high time we started giving a few back, the Stephen O'Neill one is funny, he might as well have been a fly landing on Neil McGee, he just kept on playing while O'Neill half killed himself.

Lol I actually was just checking it out before you posted that. Always thought tom had eyes on the man and not the ball but sure these things happen. Some brutal hits in that link lol.

I'm sure Stephen O'Neill doesn't loose much sleep over that. Yes it was quite hilarious but I wish we had a Stephen O'Neill now in the team...one of the greatest players we've ever had. Also a very nice guy of the field. McGee had his wetabix that day for sure .

Lovely tongue in cheek. Deflect rather than admit. I saw the Laochra Gael programme on Duff. Certainly in subsequent yrs he got some rough treatment particularly against Meath but I can assure the comment on the programme that our player supposedly admitted subsequent to the final that Duff did not make contact was totally untrue. Anyway even if he didn't the intent was there.
