Ballyboden drew so it's a losing docket anyway! Forget about it.

I have a similar issue with the moment as I was waiting on ballyboden for a 9 fold. I could have covered last legbut I read website rules and it states if over 48 hours it is void. They made the rules not you. if you want to pm or email me on this as I don't want to hijack the thread on my this great competition .et me no how you go.

There's a famous quote attributed to Mark Twain which begins..." Better to remain silent.......". I suggest you google it. You may learn something about yourself.

It's hard to understand any systems reference Club Championship.... here is us in Galway playing our County Final near the end of November after most Provenional Finals have been played???!!

I don't understand the complaint about Galway and their club Hurling scene. Many complain that they don't play any provincial matches or that they have an easy route and I say BS to both. It's not like they are laying in bed while Munster or Leinster matches are going on. They're hammering each other just like the rest. I mean to give SOME what they want the Galway champs would have to play the Roscommon or Mayo, etc champs and what good would that do anyone? There's nothing EASY about winning in Galway.

They have to pay out on the 4-fold. The original Ballyboden v Clonkill fixture is null and void- as would any game that did not throw-in for whatever reason. Now, if the game started and was abandoned it would be a different story. But this isn't the case, so enjoy your windfall... streaker (Galway) - Posts: 512 - 09/11/2018 01:01:10 2150311 Link 0 |
Galway Championship is dragged on too long. The last county in Ireland to play their county final!!

I dunno..maybe ill get slated..but you could nearly start a connacht senior champ again....over 10 years ago when it was dropped the teams from mayo and roscommon were out of their depth but I think they are stronger again...cappataggle were intermediate in galway not long ago and if I think right tooreen or ballyhaunis gave them a close game and cappy could have got to the senior final this year in galway, so im not sure would the mayo champs or possibly the roscommon ones be hammered out the gate either preddan (Kildare) - Posts: 803 - 09/11/2018 13:30:35 2150379 Link 0 |
Last word on this...don't think we have the facility to email or pm... After cogently putting my case to them and making it clear I was prepared to go to the Small Claims Court to get paid what they legally owe me, they have grudgingly agreed to pay out on the four fold "as a gesture of goodwill" (some "goodwill"). Best of luck on pressing your own case to get what you are owed. Legally they don't have a leg to stand on. Now back to the hurling. But whether the Galway teams are hurling each other or against some other county they are STILL hurling. To give you what you want it would seem you either want LESS teams involved or matches played midweek, etc. What's your suggestion especially in a year when Galway gets to the All Ireland Final?

Go back to the old system 20 Senior teams, 4 groups of 5, each team play 4 games, top 2 from each group into the Quarter Final.

Interesting idea but why did they get away from that?

Because they wanted to make it a 24 team Championship and give Clubs in Intermediate the chance to play Senior hence the reason they had no relegation from Senior for 3 years. So now there is 24 teams in Senior and only 13 teams in Intermediate??

I think you are being a little harsh on both teams. Ballygunner should give NAP a good run for their money. Ballyea can't be that bad if they got to an All-Ireland club final. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 11/11/2018 05:15:10 2150552 Link 0 |
Maybe I am. But Ballyea have some fellas tgat can't strike off their weak sides. Your as good as your worst man in Hurling. Ballygunnar will give Na Piarsaigh a good battle I think but it's very hard to see them winning. bloodyban (Limerick) - Posts: 1710 - 11/11/2018 11:11:08 2150558 Link 0 |
NAP should be the favorites to win it all but of course you never know. Lots of good Hurling to be played.

Ballyhea did get to a final, but a number of things went their way that year, although no one could say they are a poor team, as they have just won two Clare Championships and taken a good Ballygunner to two bouts of extra time in their own backyard. Nevertheless, they met a Glen Rovers team in Munster the year they won, who very lucky to beat Patrickswell, the poorest team to win the Limerick Championship in the past ten years and I have seen them all. They got over Thurles Sarsfields, a team which never seems to rise to its undoubted potential in Munster, in an earlier round, and a Galway Champion side who seemed average and of course they well beaten by Cuala. Last year by contrast Cuala only got over NAP after a tightly fought replay with Mike Casey gone off for the second half and at least going on their county final and Clonoulty performances they (NAP) seem a much improved team this year. However, only time will tell. Oldtourman (Limerick) - Posts: 4490 - 11/11/2018 19:58:01 2150649 Link 0 |
The gap between Galway and Mayo/Roscommon is quite probably bigger than ever. In 13 years of competition, the Galway intermediate champions have lost 1 game in Connacht. Putting their senior champions against each other would just lead to a slaughtering every year. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1677 - 11/11/2018 22:36:07 2150692 Link 2 |
