They were 9 points up with ten minutes to go and Kerins got two flukey goals to get back into it and momentum switched but it was a group game that Crokes were already through , I guarantee if they meet again Crokes will murder them.

It will be if Clann v Brigids happens to be the same final for a number of years in the years ahead but at the moment its the first Clann v Brigids final for 21 years so long ago that some players that will be playing in this final weren't even born in 1997.

They are meeting them again. They were drawn against each other in the semis. I'd expect Crokes to win well, but I was making the point that they're beatable. A club who are miles ahead in their county would be Corofin, who are odds on to win the title before a ball is kicked. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2288 - 01/10/2018 09:40:24 2144531 Link 0 |
They've won one, in 1946.

As expected Gaoth Dobhair advanced to the final fairly comfortably in Donegal with Glenties joining them after a tight battle with Glenswilly. From what I've seen so far I'd expect Gaoth Dobhair to have enough to win but Glenties will be a tough nut to crack. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9730 - 08/10/2018 15:14:39 2145592 Link 0 |

While Corofin are deserved favorites Annaghdown are not too far behind. An upset is possible.

Wexford Hurling final is St. Martins v Naomh Eanna (Gorey), football final is Kilanerin v Shelmaliers, with Matty Forde still doing the business for Kilanerin. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1820 - 09/10/2018 12:14:45 2145763 Link 0 |

Yes, all the pundits get it wrong most years; most of the favourites, including the holders, knocked out this year again. I personally think the top Tyrone clubs play a better brand of football than the county; the attendances rival big county games. The only downside for Tyrone clubs is that it's difficult for any club to get some consecutive-year experience in the provincials or the AI; and you need that consecutive experience to win a provincial or AI. Going out newly-minted every year, euphoric after wining a difficult co c'ship, is no preparation at all for meeting clubs who are dominant within their counties and who in some cases see their own co c'ship as a good warm up for the provincials, as Cross used to and Crokes still do.

Caltra or Ballyboden St Enda's didn't need the back to back experience to win the club All Ireland out or St Thomas's in the Hurling.

Coolderry claimed the Offaly SHC title for the first time since 2015 last Sunday when beating the holders Kilcormac/Killoughey - 2-17 to 0-17. Goals and the performances of Brian Carroll and captain Kevin Connolly were the winning of the game. PortInFaithful (Offaly) - Posts: 472 - 10/10/2018 15:19:34 2145957 Link 0 |
Didn't two of Ferbane's county players suffer serious injuries in the semi final?

Can someone let me know what the story is with the Galway Senior Hurling Championship? Have a decent bet on St. Thomas to win it, are they in the semi finals or quarters? I know they topped their group with decent wins in the last few rounds. There seems to be a raft of Senior matches on this week up there, do Thomas have a bye? St Thomas' and Gort are the too front runners to win it. The Galway Championship is too long....64 matches and that's only the group games! They have preliminary quater finals this weekend. St Thomas' are straight through to the 1/4 finals

Shane Nally and Jack Egan were injured in the semi final win over Clara. Shane is an Offaly footballer. They will be a loss for Ferbane v Rhode in Sunday's County Final. thelongridge (Offaly) - Posts: 1879 - 11/10/2018 11:03:33 2146049 Link 0 |
