They are enjoying it and rightly so, these are memories they will have for the rest of their lives. There are some who would prefer to see Gaoth Dobhair out again this weekend playing in the AI semi so the whole thing can be finished before Christmas. Il never understand that way of thinking, the next few weeks of celebrations and then 6 weeks of excitement for the build-up to the semi final is what it's all about.

There will be a lot of FEAR around Gaobh Dobhair in the next few days. Great for the lads to celebrate it to the full. I think it would be better to put the phones away though, they are making rods for their own backs potentially. Don't get me wrong... I've no problem with the session.. just keep it off social media himachechy (Donegal) - Posts: 293 - 05/12/2018 13:57:54 2153392 Link 0 |

It's far from the Ritz but a great bar for the craic all the same.

Congratulations to Two Mile House on winning their 2nd Leinster title since 2014. Commiserations to Shamrocks after a titanic second half struggle. lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 3027 - 08/12/2018 15:03:31 2153674 Link 1 |
No. I think they changed it a couple of years ago. Until then there was the ridiculous situation where, after 70 minutes, Team A could be down to 14 men and Team B could have a man with a yellow card, and then in extra time, Team A would go back to having 15 men (effectively clearing the red card from the team) but Team B yellow card man could get a second yellow and be sent off.

Gaoth Dobhair must be one of the youngest teams to win an Ulster club. 10 of the starting 15 last week also won an Ulster U21 club title at the start of the year! Tir Conaill Abu (Donegal) - Posts: 1677 - 09/12/2018 11:23:27 2153716 Link 0 |
Well you must feel very silly now, anyone who knows Leinster football will have known how good mullinaghta are and you should learn not to dismiss a team based on their population but rather on the players at their disposal. Huge congratulations to mullinaghta what a club!

Great believe and desire on show from the Mullinaghta lads there today. But it must be said that Kilmacud were the artists of their own downfall with questionable decision making when seeing out the game. They went far too negative towards the end despite having some impressive attacking talent on the pitch. Conversely Mullinaghta went for the jugular even after the peno when winning possession. The decision by the Kilmacud player deep in injury time when 2 points down to take on a marginal point chance when chances were there would be no time after anyways was crazy to say the least. On a slightly separate note and with my Donegal bias hat on the value of having a big time accurate free taker in these club games is huge. Both sides today missed important frees that at this time of year were not easy. Last week in similar circumstances with tougher conditions and with gun even more to the head Odhran MacNiallais really showed his worth. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2849 - 09/12/2018 16:41:33 2153758 Link 1 |
Excuse my spelling should be Mullinalaghta

Corofin and Dr Crokes will be favourites to advance with many pundits but what a novel pairing Gaoth Dobhair / Mullinalaghta would be on St Patrick's Day. Curlew66 (Roscommon) - Posts: 604 - 10/12/2018 11:56:53 2153854 Link 2 |
I'm pulling hard for Corofin but yes you are right about such a matchup. You never know...

Corofin will be favourites given their pedigree at this stage of the competition. But Gaoth Dobhair are in bonus territory as far as they are concerned so will approach it without inhibition. They certainly have the players to topple the Galway men, Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9730 - 26/12/2018 15:53:29 2155126 Link 1 |
I agree with you. They must be very good to get this far. They have nothing to lose as nobody picked them to get to this point. Should be interesting.

If he shuts down Burke it will be a major feather in his cap. I hope the weather is decent enough for it too.
