Why the hell not enjoy the whole build up indeed . Most Dublin fans will be confident of this sides ability and we're long past trying the cute hoorism that still exists in some quarters whereby god forbid you might be labeled as a favourite as if somehow that will make you less likely to win . If you're good enough you'll win and that's the bottom line. So far , we've been good enough , and hope to prove once again on Sunday that we are the benchmark . Im confident and Dublin will be roaring hot favorites, but i am also edgy and would be very respectful of Tyrone all set up for an ambush. I dont think there will be much in it and think Tyrone will give us a proper game. 15 Vs 15 and both with big decent benches, with all the motivation in the world, anything can happen. far from a forgone conclusion, I see it as 60/40 in Dublins favor if im honest, with Tyrone with nothing to loose. It's natural I suppose to have an element of doubt as its a one off game and Tyrone will be raring to go. At the same time if you were to pick a manager and a team to be prepared for whatever Tyrone throw at us on Sunday, I would be happy with our lot. Shocked to hear this from a Dublin fan... I am sure yourself would have followed Dublin through the lean years when winning an All Ireland was a dream or a distant hope. This run wont last forever so not to get excited at seeing the Dubs in another All Ireland Final...??? I just dont get that at all. Maybe it is because Connolly is not playing eh..??? ;o) Personally, my nerves are already kicking in.... Very wary of another ambush...! What Dublin are bringing to the game needs to be embraced. It's just a matter of finding the right level of competition. The Railway Cup seems the only logical platform.

I actually think you are on to something here, i think whats quite clear is that other counties have declined for many socioeconomic reasons or just have been left behind in modern coaching or limits on players they are producing, alligned with poor decisions. For example Galway produced fine athletes with great physicality this year but maybe were lacking technical composure. Kerry produced some nice looking technical players but had limits in athleticism and physical presence and were bullied by a few teams. It seems only Dublin have found the magical formula or the balance, a true testament to advanced player development. All the more stunning despite a population of 1.3 million people only 39k are registered to a GAA club. Im not sure the playing numbers are quite there to be considered provincial status. So really there is little evidence to tinker with the intercounty game But we cant be not aware of the regression in other counties, clubs all over the country are amalgamating and you do wonder will the GAA at some point look to go the path way in Rugby and create a provincal regional system. You could have South Munster, The midlands, Connaght, North Leinster East and West Ulster, Dublin etc. The intercounty can exist in some form as a middle ground, but an interprovincal not based on the current four province system may be a future pathway with the regression of many counties and the methods they employ. I think particularly as money creeps in the game. Its a long way off though, id say we are three or four eras of a discussion about it yet. Some counties may pull up their socks by then also and save the championship as we know it. But if the game creeps toward professionalism and becomes an all year affair a system an interprovincal system may be apt. A lot of adversity may be down pathway i couldn't see Kerry and Cork give in with out a fight or Mayo and Galway if an amalgamation was on the cards for South Munster or west Connacht. I think MH was in 3 senior finals not 6/7, GAA released a statement that they want rule changes for next season, they should have waited until this season was over, they are promoting this Final as a dead rubber. Hope Tyrone can sneak it.

There is no media attention from the Dublin camp this year as they have no appeal nor discipline issues to focus on. Media usually jump on negative stories as this is what the public want to read about. Similarly Tyrone have none to contend with, although the media couldn't let the RTE boycott go unnoticed. Completely normal... What will generally happen is the Tuesday or Wednesday after a semi final win, Dublin will have a meet and greet for fans at Parnell Park that the whole squad will attend providing they aren't in work. Once that is finished its lock down until the final and no Dublin player will be doing interviews At that meet and greet the media will turn up and a few players will be taken aside for interviews aswell as Jim Gavin, The media know that this is the last they will get from the Dublin squad/management and with still 2 and a half weeks to go, tend to keep their interviews/articles until the week or so before the game (I assume) This year, The players interviewed at the meet and greet where Johnny Cooper and Dean Rock So if you see any articles on HS over the next few days or over the past few days theyre likely to be from Gavin, Dean Rock or Johnny Cooper. The problem with winning in 3rd or 4th gear is that when the pressure comes on and you have to up the performance as happened Dublin in that famous 2014 semi final they couldn't get there foot of the clutch and panicked, I think Diarmuid Connolly was the only man they had that didn't panic, Tyrone have the potential to win and Mickey Harte has the brains to unpick the blue machine, I don't buy into this narrative about this Dublin team being this great team, other counties have just slipped behind temporarily, not surprising either given the amount of money that's pumped into Dublin and they play all the big games at home, big population etc. if Kerry had all those advantages they'd be winning it year in year out. you won't get much excitement or news from Jim Gavin win or lose, he sort of sums up the robotic blue machine well. thank God for Mayo they always give great entertainment.

This is a very different dublin then 2014 and we all know why they lost awful stuff. This is the greatest team of all time but i can only see it lasting another couple of years. THis thing about the dubs in croker is bs they would beat anyone anywhere on their day. they are after winning year in year out and your not going to say they are a great team oh lord I dont think anyone can name a better team??
