You should know that the most important part of any grounds is the pitch and without the players there would be no need for spectators like yourself or myself. By the way the 6.01 news or any other' red herring ' you wish to introduce has little to do with the topic being discussed.

Casement Park has to be the worst ground. Pitch and stands are covered in weeds and over grown grass. Hate to play there ;) pkboher (Cork) - Posts: 49 - 24/07/2017 01:57:04 2022202 Link 0 |
The pitch in Fitzgerald stadium is excellent.

Surface of Newbridge is excellent but the grounds men have to deal with large lumps and bumps that would require a major pitch redevelopment to rid itself of. In terms of day to day surface maintenance its brilliant but again its too tight at the town end and the corner flag beside the dressing room rises like a pitchers base in baseball. Just have a walk around the next time your there. Completely appreciate the fact that refurbishment is on the way but this opinion is based on the current state of affairs. sportsfan14 (USA) - Posts: 281 - 24/07/2017 10:55:09 2022355 Link 0 |

Based on your assessment, there must be an awful lot of crap pitches in the country then. How did Newbridge end up rated second?? The criteria was best pitch in the country, not just best surface. Just to point out, I've walked around it lots and lots of times, in all weathers and it's held up really well. Hence it's rating. We'll just have to agree to disagree my friend.
