Rory Gallagher has stepped down as Derry senior football manager.

Derry GAA confirmed last night that Ciarán Meenagh, who took over the managerial duties from Gallagher for last Sunday's dramatic Ulster SFC final win over Armagh, will be remaining in charge for the rest of the season. It comes after the Fermanagh native said on Friday that he would be 'stepping back' as Derry manager for personal reasons.

“Derry GAA can today confirm that Rory Gallagher has stepped down as the county’s senior football manager,” a county board statement read.

“Ciarán Meenagh will assume the role for the rest of the 2023 season. Derry GAA will be making no further comment at this time.”
