Anti GAA Agenda - 16 Like(s)
Replying To Crinigan: "But we integrated. That is the vital point. I've no issue with immigration per se. My issue is with lack of integration and the fracture of society that it causes. Irish immigrants adapted by and large, married to other cultures, sold their properties to people from different cultures, didn't impose their culture too much or adapted it to fit.
Certain cultures do not integrate and I am not brushing all Muslims with the same brush here either. Many Bosnians (over a thousand in Blanch'town) and Albanians and Turks and Kurds have indeed integrated fantastically in Ireland but these are known moderate Islamic countries (Turkey under Erdogan gone backwards clearly)." Go down to Ballyhaunis and see how Muslims have integrated. Quiet, devout people, they've bee there more than 40 years. Many of them play for the GAA club. Without the Halal factory Ballyhaunis would be a ghost town. They're locals now. And what did the 'National' Party do when the Parish priest, as a gesture of friendship, ask 2 Muslims to recite their prayers in the Parish church? They brought tentacrowd down to the church yard of a town they'd never heard of for a social media whinge. They're a joke. Integration isn't easy but saying stuff like 'they don't like to integrate' isn't a great starting point.

"Why Should Anybody Have The God-Given Right To See All Games On Television?" - 16 Like(s)
Replying To MesAmis: "Another way to look at it is that you're paying €160 annually for the right to them pay Sky more money every month.
Can't get RTÉ without the licence fee but you can't get Sky Sports without the licence fee plus a Sky sub every month." I'd still prefer that my €160 wasn't feeding a lot of public servants who also get some of my tax when I rarely watch RTE. I'd prefer if it all went to TG4 who promote our language and seem more clued in as shown by them live streaming games on YouTube.

Sean Boylan Vs Jim Gavin - Who Is The Greatest? - 14 Like(s)
Replying To KingdomBoy1: "Greenandred you've never hidden your dialike for for my county and that's fair enough but if you get a chance take a look back a long the threads and see who the real instigators are, I think you'll owe the kerry folk on here an apology." I have nothing but respect for Kerry and all our counties. I work with sound men from Lixnaw, Listowel and Tralee and enjoy the banter with them. I take issue with posters like yourself and alter egos fabricating stuff and not being an accurate representation of some great Kerry people I know.

Kerry Could Be There For The Taking - 14 Like(s)
Kerry are hot favourites with a fairly settled team. We haven't played well in 2022, bar the Dublin game, a lot of chopping and changing between giving players a runout and injuries. I think Kerry will win but our pride/stubbornness will keep the winning margin to 5 or less points. But I'm hoping for an upset.

New Meath Manager - 14 Like(s)
Replying To FoolsGold: "Rochford is in the backroom team for the Mayo job with McStay https://t.co/xODOpzrrP8
He wasn't part of Flynns ticket. Why was he naming him?" Heard this discussed on a podcast this week. Seems there's a few names being linked with more than one backroom team, just speculation. But possibly Flynn had Rochford lined up and McStay asked him to join his bid afterwards. It's mad auld banter this summer with the speculation. It's like predicting the soccer transfers before the transfer window closes. Makes for good clickbait. I'd say some lads are sitting in a pub thinking up mad stuff to send to Whatsapp groups for the windup.

Meath v Roscommon - 14 Like(s)
Replying To Furlong1949: "In the winter of 2016 McStay was nearly got rid off by Roscommon. His co manager walked Fergal O Donnell. I think that is a fact. I think Mcstay even refered to his critics in Roscommon after connacht final last year. Didnt Gay Sheeran basically say a Mayo man should not be managing Roscommon. In the winter of 2016 it was a winter of discontent in Roscommon. There was allot of criticism of Mcstay and McHale. I think that is a fact." link
Roscommon didn't nearly get rid of McStay though some in Roscommon football would probably have Ben happy if he left after they were relegated. O'Donnell quit and brought two selectors with him saying he was being undermined. Seems closer to the truth to say it was O'Donnell that was trying to undermine McStay and McHale. Some players didn't return for Roscommon in 2017 for various reasons, but some because they had ties with pro-O'Donell politics.
link
Pro-O'Donnell camp Sheerin went on a rant about McStay and McHale because they're from Mayo. Not because they're not from Roscommon even though McStay has lived there for years, played for Roscommon Gaels and coached Roscommon minors and U21s. There's no pleasing some people!

GAA on TV - 13 Like(s)
Replying To DUALSUPPORT: "In fairness to crinigan there is substance to his post. I would agree with alot with what he says. Hate of things christian and Jewish might be a bit strong to put it but the left certainly don't hold Islam to the same ethical standards as to other religions. Even liberal analysts such as Bill Maher, Sam Harris and the late Christopher Hitchens have often called out the left on this." Dualsport. For me a snowflake isn't left or right or centre or whatever you're having. It's someone who goes out of their way to be offended and root out what they see as the offensive terms in an argument and completely ignore someone elses point of view. At least if someone is left or right they have a stance on something and might even be admired even if you strongly disagree with their beliefs and opinions. Snowflake is a bit unfair to someone who could have mental issues maybe, though was there as much mental stress before social media? There are those people who believe that posting Black Lives matter or Save Paris banners on Facebook after a terrorist attack will change extreme views and actions, it won't. That's as much activism as they'll be involved in and they'll take offence if you suggest that all lives matter. They're best ignored. I've no time for organised religion and every religion has genuinely devout well meaning respectful people and a minority of wrongdoers who give them a bad name. The media will skew people's opinions by sensationalising the bad stuff. I think in Ireland a leftie, or bearded leftie as they were sometimes known, is a socialist who genuinely works for better rights and conditions for the working class. Not many of them in RTE. A bunch of public servants living on taxpayers money and offering very little new or creative.

Replying To Trump2020: "RIP to Weeshie, no one like him. Can you escape the TV license by watching all your content on a large computer screen?" Not anymore it seems. I meet Weeshie once. Was walking out the back of the Mackey Stand after we lost the 2014 replay and I saw a man sitting on an upturned bottle crate. He looked familiar but I couldn't place him until a few Kerry supporters called out to him. The most serene contentest looking man in Limerick that night. I shook his hand, he had big bear hands and wished him luck in the final. A gentleman. RIP.

Full Stadium For Hurling And Football Finals. - 13 Like(s)
Replying To dingle2: "All Premier League grounds packed to capacity this weekend. GAA should demand full capacity for Hurling and Football All Ireland Finals. No medical or scientific reason why this should not happen (unless the NEPHET gurus state that the now humanised Covid virus prefers GAA games rather than Premier League matches - ergo reduced attendances).
82,500 for Croker must be allowed and the GAA should insist on same.
Ciarraí Abú." Other than hygiene protocols and social distancing restriction in some cases in the UK there are virtually no COVID restrictions there, no need to wear masks.

Leinster Football The Reality - 13 Like(s)
Replying To Malonemagic: "After Meaths hammering today people will be quick to put the boot in on Leinster. But of the 8 back door teams remaining , 4 are Leinster, 2 Ulster, 1 Munster and 1 connacht. Dublin have killed the Leinster championship itself , but the other teams in Leinster are a match for anyone. Kildare beat mayo last year. Meath almost beat Tyrone. Laois won away in derry yesterday. And on top of this many leinster teams are playing without key players due to the hopelesses of it all. If Dublin moved to any other province they would kill that province too. They are phenomenal." Dublin haven't killed the Leinster championship, it's up to other Leinster counties to give them more to think about and improve and eventually beat them. Look at Cork last night putting Kerry to the pin of their collar. As you say the other teams are doing well in the qualifiers. They need to keep improving and strive to beat Dublin.Dublin have a psychological advantage over some counties who get to games with a 'sure we'll do our best' atitude rather than self-belief that they'll win. Now definitely they are formidable opponents with a great manger but some teams are affectively starting games against them three or four points down. Donegal and Kerry won All Irelands recently so a whole load of positivity in the head might reduce that big gap a bit and it might breed the confidence needed to knock the off their perch.
