Replying To Farneyarmy2013:  "Cremartin have just survived relagation every year in senior. After losing their best payer after Stephan Mooney in Barry Kerr they should be there. Bate by a corduff team in a relagtion final who were beat by 18 points by iniskeen then to get well beaten by truagh whos missing Gary mohan and Louis Kelly."
Will truagh get out of the group or will they be fighting relegation for second year in a row?

A Blayney team who wouldn't win intermediate should have beaten Truagh. It will be points difference between Blayney and Truagh to see who plays inniskeen in a quarter and a season over

Replying To HB245:  "I'd hold the horses on Magheracloone. They're a steady senior side, but can't be the third best team in senior with that forward line. Won a league against Scotstown's B team last year and got hockeyed by Inniskeen in the semi final.
Inniskeen are just so unlucky to have this golden generation come along at the same time as Scotstown. A little village competing against 5 villages combined + McCarron. I went off them a bit over the Durnin transfer, but at the same time, what club would turn him down? Would love to see them get one but last year was the best chance they'll ever have with Scotstown's injuries."
Think maghercloone a great side, think Eddie Kelly, Wayne Kierans and Justin Carry Lynch have done a great job with them so far this year

It was a point I raised a few years ago on here, the smaller clubs are really going to be squeezed in the next decade. The big clubs in the county have multiple juvenile teams, posters will say this has always been the way but I would say it has developed much stronger over the past 10 years. This will surely see more demand for better adult teams in years to come. So that's why you could see a number of bigger clubs play in the Junior championship moving forward. It's going to be really hard for the smaller clubs. I wonder would there ever been a case for clubs merging together? And the league is gone, it was mental pre covid how important the league was for status. It seemed very competitive but its nothing now. Do we merge reserve competitions into a league and new championship with 1st teams? There used to be a bit of prestige winning the o duffy or Crawley cup but they seem flat now as well.
It's not uncommon in other counties for second teams to win Premier championships, cross seconds have done it and look at ballygunner in waterford on an extreme level.
Can you deprive say maybe 10 good lads of decent summer championship football if your with a big club and can't break onto a strong team. It's a difficult one and you'd feel for the smaller clubs the same time.

What about midfielders like Allistor Stewart? James Maguire? Senan Carlon? Surely these men could do a job round the middle of the park where we lack size and strength. Anyone else?

Heard from a good source that Niall Kearns is going to be back in the country shortly. Going to be back playing with the Sean's and open to a return to the Monaghan set up

If true a potential game changer for the county side in so many ways not just midfield as free others up lavelle gallagher etc. Tough coming back after all these years through.

Our midfield problem is extremely easily fixed.
GB moves on and David McCague gets the job, the first thing he does is get Big McPhillips back into the Monaghan team alongside McCarville. The next job to add some depth is get Andrew woods fit, he has the size, fielding ability and an excellent kick passer of the ball, the only reason he's not lining out in the middle is his lack of fitness. Matthew Carolan to be the apprentice for the 2027 season with the hopes of replacing/pushing one of them men out of the team when he develops.
