It was a pretty close rivalry ye but for some reason Galway were made strong favourites in that final, never understood it. I'd be pretty sure McGeeney would not be happy with the performance in that final had they lost, aside from the 12-15 minute period around the goal they were very cagey. Frees are earned by taking on your man. Not many Galway players actually took on their man 1 v1. Passing the ball around slowly and laterally doesn't win frees as their is no need for the defender to foul.
