How are we all feeling ahead of the Cavan game? Besides the fact it looks to be some occasion for us Westmeath Gaels seeing full house in Cusack I expect it to be a very close encounter. Cavan would be looked at being the same kind of level as Kildare.

Hopefully the lads knuckle down the next few days and prepare the right way as this will be a massive test. I still have nightmares from 2004 loss too Derry. Roscommon who looked to be flying and unstoppable pipped today by a good Tyrone outfit.

Looks like we have some injuries from the Dublin game. The panel will be tested again. Jack Duncan very impressive when reintroduced in extra time as a wing back maybe he might be moved to wing back if Whittaker is out!

It will be 6/7 weeks since Cavan played Monaghan in Ulster, they will be primed, fully fit and ready to rock next Saturday. Hopefully our lads are too! Heslin could be the difference

Replying To mickcunningham:  "Great crowd in cusack Park this morning and thanks to the players for generously giving of their time . Mattie whittaker must be a serious doubt for Saturday. He was heavily strapped and on crutches. Glad to have secured my tickets and will be in the park early"
It was Danny McCartan who was on crutches

The Westmeath county board have nothing got to do with ticket sales. As it's the all Ireland series ticket sales are done through official GAA ticket sale partners

Absolutely spot on. None of the counties have any input into the sale of tickets

A really difficult game ahead on Saturday, westmeath have been brilliant in four championship games (pinch moment to win 4 championship games) and have been going to the well in last three games. Injuries have hit the team all year which they have dealt with but with a few more gone from leinster final win, it will be difficult. I believe a few u20s have been brought into panel for training so that really positive. Cavan are a good team and stayed up in div 2 this year. They have had a lenghty break. McCabe stringing westmeath out for so long at start of year wont have much of impact as his replacement has brought westmeath to another level and will forever be remembered. Best of luck westmeath, the buzz is unreal around this team
