Nice double header in the football this Sunday for the Dubs, with the Jackies in the Ladies Leinster Senior Football Final v Kildare at 12. Our Ladies beat Meath at the weekend by 1-11 to 0-05

Dublin v Westmeath throws in @2pm.

Surprised how easily they beat Meath who must have slipped a lot.

Be interesting to see how many turn up. Kerry/Cork was 30,000 where some were predicting not half that.

Westmeath will bring a big crowd but don't detect any groundswell for our lads. Will go if we have a good day in Salthill!

Yep another busy weekend ahead for many of us dual code supporters.

Yep, not hearing much interest about the Final either tbh - hopefully a big crowd of us turn up.
It is really our only realistic chance of silverware this season after all.

As for the Hurling, expecting a backlash from the Galway men on Sat.
Although we beat Wexford, I think we have a lot of improving to do based on that performance.
But it is in us. We are better than we showed, imo.

The build up to the Leinster final has been very muted indeed or at least I've just not heard much being spoken about it. I know Westmeath are ramping things up and rightly so, will be a great occasion for them but our lads simply can't get caught up in any of that craic and just put them away. Handicap with the bookies is -6 and I'd expect us to be close enough to that. I'm hearing some of the injuries have cleared up with two big returnees to the bench who will hopefully see some action but hopefully as an added bonus late on and not actually being needed!

As for the hurlers and heading to Galway, I just don't know what way this will go. Less than impressive v a very flat Wexford side last weekend and if we cough up similar chances to Galway then we could very well be beaten.

Spot on.

I will head to Galway more in hope than expectation.
The bigger one is at Home to the Cats in The Neller.
We have a better chance in that one.

Bad few days for our underage teams in both codes in Leinster.
For me, this really needs to change soon....
We have to be more competitive.
I look at the likes of other counties who are consistently challenging at underage.
We need to get to that stage.

As for Sunday, Westmeath will bring huge numbers to Croker.

That was brilliant. Best display by Dublin team in over ten years.

Guaranteed qualification and good chance of making final.

The defence with Rushie there has transformed team.

Top win away and a great way to win it with the two brothers combining.
Hopefully Part 1 of a great weekend

Dubs will need to get the Tyrone lads down again.

Congratulations. Delighted for Dublin hurling and also that it might also quieten a lot of the noise west of the Shannon. But I'm sure that a lot of them will still mouth on regardless.

Fair play to the Dubs, yesterday knew how to manage the conditions and the game when it was their for them. Concerning couple of weeks for us, but hopefully we'll meet again in a few weeks.

Around 30,000 confirmed so far in tickets, 15,000 of that Westmeath in fairness that's close to 20% of population, that's a massive amount of people. You need to remember 67,000 at Meath v Louth last year was two counties with a population of 365,000 people

Westmeath will remember today for the next 60/70 years. Dublin fans will forget about it this evening. A huge day for them. Well done westmeath, delighted for them.

Dublin players tried to the end to be fair to them, Westmeath were just fitter and deserved their win.

A bigger concern for Dublin would be that they were outnumbered by Westmeath supporters in a home final.
