Anybody know what the story with the permutations for the U-20s tonight? I had thought with Galway's win over Sligo last week, we were all but guaranteed 3rd place barring a big Leitrim victory tonight with a superior SD. But I've heard now that a Leitrim win of any margins, sees Sligo through and us out. Can't find anything online about the permutations, so anybody know what the craic is for sure?

Suppose there is one permutation for definite - just win!

A Leitrim win would put you into a 3 way tie on 2 points, so it would go to a mini-league looking at the results between just those 3 sides.

Sligo bt Leitrim by 2
Roscommon bt Sligo by 10

So the current mini-league would be:
Roscommon 2pts (+10 SD)
Sligo 2pts (-8 SD)
Leitrim 0pts (-2 SD)

So for Roscommon to lose out Leitrim would have to beat you by at least 7 (6 would tie the SD in the mini-league, but you're well clear on total scored so it's not enough for them to tie).

Ian Cooney did a good write up around the chaos of it last year - https://www.roscommonherald.ie/sport/gaa/criteria-confirmed-for-deciding-connacht-u-20-football-finalist-and-semi-finalists_arid-14035.html

If Leitrim,Sligo and Roscommon finish on two points on the table it comes down to the results between each other.

Sligo lost by 10 to Roscommon
Sligo beat Leitrim by 2

As it stands

Roscommon +10
Leitrim -2
Sligo -8

Sligo can't reach the semi-final regardless of what happens in Hyde Park tonight.

Looks like Leitrim have to win by 7 or more to go through?

I post on each and every Connacht county thread. If I had cent for every time someone was thinking I'm a fan of Galway,Leitrim,Mayo,Sligo and Roscommon I'd be very rich now. On the national thread a Kerry man thought I was from Cork other than that I don't recall any other so it must be a mainly a Connacht thing to label you as a supporter of someone when giving an opinion?

I'm born and bred US full neutral if you want to believe something else then that's your problem and knock yourself out.

On the topic of neutrals like myself Smaller Fish podcast and GAA+ plus the view said what Dáire Cregg did was no red card offence."
Fair enough and yes I would consider Galway our biggest rival and being here in south Mayo….our most bitter. But hey we are playing Roscommon next so that's where my focus is.

Poor form from connacht gaa to charge 12 euro to stream the under 20 match tonight, and no commentator until about 2 minutes before half time. Is there still serious road blockages around Hyde Park?

Terrible conditions for both sets of players but Roscommon looking good for a semi - final spot ( probably against Galway) as they lead by 7 at half time.
