As did I and lets be honest nothing in that incident anf if the appeal isn't successful then the game is in a bad place as that type of reaction happens regularly in games.

What it was likely given for but not a red card offence which should give good grounds for appeal.

The match up with Cregg involved would be 60/40 in favour of Mayo that becomes 80/20 without Cregg so it's easy to see why Mayo supporters want him suspended as would be like Mayo without Ryan O'Donoghue

Doesn't Aidan O'Shea do that every time he has the ball and bull through tackles swinging his elbows?

I hope Cregg plays against Mayo. He's a brilliant footballer and you want to face the opposition at their best to see what our lads are made of. No excuses..have at it.

It's a long time since I've seen mayo supporters worrying about our players available. All over online referring to the red card incident. They are a bit limp in confidence. Has to be a good sign.

Well one thing you can say about Aidan is he never reacts to off the ball provocation in the same way Cregg did at the weekend!

I don't really care if he's suspended or not but there have been plenty of red cards down the years for what he did so it's not a scandal by any means.

You have zero memory or very cloudy then? The two O Connor brothers also known for it if they get any up close marking.

As a neutral on this one, i would hope he plays as he is an excellent player. But he has a bit to prove yet, in my opinion, to be be compared with Ryan o donoghoe.

Can you remind of an example where O'Shea retaliated out of frustration so? The two O'Connors are different and have got the odd red card down the years.. similar to Cregg.

There are literally umpteen examples of players retaliating to close marking and getting sent off.. poor diarmuid Connolly got caught out several times. Keegan in 2014 vs Kerry when he flicked his boot towards a Kerry player and didn't even connect.

Considering how much football you watch I'm sure you can think of loads more.

I'm a neutral also and yes you want to see the best players available for selection.

My comparison is based on stats and current form this year, the main scorer and creator on the Roscommon team this year is Dáire Cregg the best for Mayo is Ryan O'Donoghue.

A good journalist Cahair O'Kane named his team of the NFL recently and Dáire Cregg was the only Roscommon player than made it onto his team.

What he had to say.

Although Diarmuid Murtagh Murtagh was their top scorer and Enda Smith was horsing his way through defences the variety of what Dáire Cregg has brought to the table gets him on the team of the league.

Take one pointers he's kicked 16 of them compared to Murtagh's five. He kicked 0-9 against Kerry in Killarney and was brilliant in the wins against Armagh,Galway.

Wouldnt read too much in to stats for league. I would compare enda smyth with ryan o donoghoe ( not so much in style of play but in repeated high end championship performances). Daire Cregg , i would compare with Cian McHale in terms of where he is at currently, both with huge potential, both top sigerson players, both v good in NFL, but both still unproven in the real heat of championship

I post on each and every Connnacht county thread and if I had a cent for every time someone thought I was a Mayo,Galway,Sligo,Leitrim or Roscommon I'd be very rich. I also post on national threads whereby once a Kerry man thought I was from Cork. Seems to be a Mayo thing with Roscommon on their mind though when Galway should be your main rival.

For the record I'm US born and bred a full neutral knock yourself out if you want to believe something else.

@anotheralias in years gone by I would agree with you in regards to reading into the league. Not anymore with the league now connected to the championship and how close it's conclusion is to the commence of the province championships.
