There were seven pages in the Western People today all about Kobe McDonald. Seven pages in the local paper.....that's nuts."

No he may have been mentioned in seven pages such is the extent of GAA coverage in Mayo but as already highlighted you made it sound like all seven goes were Kobe exclusive. They weren't and you know well they were not. Warping narratives.

I for one , am delighted , to see kobe coming on to the scene with such effect. I think Mayo , over the years would have won a good few AIs if they had a con o callaghan, shane walsh or a david clifford. Still too early to say with kobe , but if he were to stay at home he certainly looks to have the potential to be considered in that company. Media love stories like this and the reaction in the papers is only natural especially in a passionate county like Mayo. Probably mentions in 7 pages , regardless of whether they were partial pages or not, is a bit excessive, but what harm, im sure most readers enjoyed the read.

I guess the only thing worse than being talking about is not being talked about at all. I listened to the various national podcasts this week and it's all Kobe. In an ironic way it may take the focus of the rest of the Mayo team because this week this was zero analysis of the actual game its itself and our other players who played well.
