Great result for the rossie today. Fair play to mark o dowd, he is doing a massive job so far . He made no excuses about players missing got on with the job and developed other players. Delighted to pick up the valuable two points on offer. We had fluid, flowing football in the opening 35 minutes not to mention dominance of the kickout exchanges. It was dream stuff to be leading the All-Ireland champions of 2024 at half time by 12 points. Different story 2nd half as Armagh threw all at us as they took over in midfield, we knuckled down then and got big impact off the bench especially the 3rd goal made by Duggan and scored by Carey. A key score to allow us to win by three. 2nd in the table after 3 games without Brigids players,McKeon Cox Harney exceeds expectations. Roll on Salthill next Saturday. I'm sure the Brigid's lads will be back for the Galway game but how can you drop anyone after the three brilliant performances we have put in. Super game of Football from both sides in very trying conditions." That's a major takeaway for us alright. Kept kicking to the same place in the 2nd half and losing the ball. Armagh also hit their chaos button in the 3rd quarter and the yellow cards started flying, but Roscommon did really well to cope with all that madness. Great to see a bit of nastiness and some 'dark arts' coming into this Roscommon team. Far too often down the years we have been beaten because we were too nice on the pitch, don't get that this year at all. Still work to do but yesterday was a very satisfying result. Yeah, great cut back by Jack for our 3rd goal. Is he worth a start in the next game? He has done well when he came on against Kerry and Armagh. I feel for his own sake of trying to claim a squad spot for championship, he will need to get a start before the end of the league. You'll win nothing being soft at this level. This was a fantastic result and importantly two wins in a row in The Hyde. Dowd and Co have done a great job. Can I just say fair play for organising the kids meet and greet too and thank you to the players for participating. Very important for the future and creates a lot of good will in the county. You wouldn't want to be confusing the goals Armagh coughed up to Rob Finnerty and Enda Smith in their opening NFL games with an 'ability to get goals at the right time'. Huge win yesterday. I said a few weeks back if we are going to stay up, we would need a few results against the head and this felt like one of them. Goes a big way towards making up for the manner of the Kerry defeat. Still plenty of work to do to survive but a solid foundation laid down now. Dublin game still feels like that will be massive but we have a very good scoring difference atm which could be crucial if we end up tied on points with two other teams. We are currently the scorers across all four divisions. Attacking has never been our problem, it has always been from 1 to 9. Again areas of concern yesterday. Totally cleaned out in midfield in the 2nd half. Also very open at the back. Armagh butchered some goal chances and their shooting in general in the 2nd half was poor. They'll be kicking themselves. We definitely rode our luck in the 2nd half and only for Carey's goal I'm sure if we would have seen the game out. But you need that if you're going to survive with the big boys. Also anybody else think Senan Lamb's goal should have stood? Seemed to have taken a deflection of the Armagh player? Anyways, onto Salthill Saturday.
