Replying To Alwaysencourage:  "Thomas Farthing I think I'd his name and he is playing rugby still last time I heard"
Haven't heard him near side Connacht side but they are losing a few young scrum halves this summer around his age.

Walsh from Moycullen has made bench for a few Connacht games only 19 but a giant

John Daly the best footballing centre half back in the country, he's a huge loss under these new rules. Very few players can kick a long pass like him, if and its a big if he can get fit to play any part of a game its a big plus. He offers something totally different which is something a panel needs.

2 games in Joyce will be delighted so far, all the debutants have had some sort of impact.

Replying To AnCrúiscínLán:  "Midfield is the one area Galway need to focus on. We have some big men around the area but not consistent good fielders. Andy Murnin gave an exhibition of the skill yesterday, and imo there's no reason several Galway players shouldn't be able to do the same. I think McGlinchey has this skill in his locker, as does Darcy. O'Laoi has improved a lot, contributes on the scoreboard and hopefully he can stay injury free. It was great to see Tuam and Dunmore represented yesterday and proving so influential."
Bhí Ó Laoí iontach sa chead leath! I actually think hes a better wing back at IC than a forward, he has the pace, can spot a pass and generally does the right thing with the ball. Thought he could have had another point but he didn't back himself. That first goal was all ó Laoí, he collect the ball in his own half, brough it up the field 1-1 than layed on the pass for the goal.

Dont think farthing has kicked an o neills since his man of the match performance in all ireland minor final win. Hes on his second year with connacht academy and would need to be making inroads next season there if he's going to play on for connacht as two of their 4 scrum halves are leaving at end of season. If he was let go form connacht next year im sure PJ or whoever is in place at that time would have a look at him and see if he has the ability to adapt to intercounty game. he was teak tough as a corner back from what i remember of him

Replying To Marooned:  "As Maurice Brosnan said in the Examiner today, Galway's problem is when they go long they lose kickouts and when they go short they get turned over too often coming out of defence. We don't have that accurate mid range kick into the half back line or midfield as to be honest the keeper isn't capable of it.

All the journalists keep asking PJ about the availability of every player under the sun but I haven't heard anyone ask him about John Daly yet."
John Daly was acting as a water boy on the terrace side for the game against Mayo. He must be injured?

Many of that u17 winning team refer to Farthing as the best man marker they have ever came across, Cillian Trayers was another big loss from that group, he has had a great start to his IC hurling career so not much hope of seeing him ever come back to the big ball. No updates on the u17 or 20s panels yet, a lot of other countries have released lists already.

Is there any point in talking about a 17 year old from 3/4 years ago who has not kicked a ball at adult level for a club tea. No doubt he was a great prospect at 17 but he would not be the first or the last "minor" prospect not to make an impact at IC senior level. He has made his decision and best of luck to him but not sure has pulled up any branches with Connacht either.
