Are you related to boxyburgerbuns? Both with the same passive aggressive posting style on here.

Please don't even be implying that they are one in the same person, or else the two them may gang up on you together...from the same computer!

You're a great man to be able to message so much from the 'USA'. Is baseball season not on?

Regardless competition the U20s are the future of Leitrim football such upcoming fixtures should be discussed on here than to belittle it.

Question. Does the club league (and boot spring or reserve) not usually be underway by this time of year already?

plan must be to not play league games without county players this year. can you blame them? just a pity it is squeezed into 2 months so first team player's June and July are taken up before straight into championship.
reserve leagues are two rounds in.

Why can't you blame them? a lot of counties well into their leagues at this stage - Cavan have round 8 this weekend, Roscommon into round 7, Sligo round 3 and Leitrim hasn't even started and won't start for another week or 2. Teams playing a god awful spring league competition, that sees a complete mismatch of teams playing each other.

Playing regular games that actually mean something at teams standard may increase the standard, may bridge the gap and give some hope to the bottom half of the tables, and may produce some players capable of stepping up to county level, instead they're left months and months on end playing a mean nothing competition that is so bad 99% of players would be worked harder if they had a training session.

And now league is rammed into the calendar with little room for maneuver, We are the only county that does this and we are usually the first county out of all competitions.

And a county final most likely to be played in late October. When the county team are as good as out of the teacup now

This runs across all the age levels. Some of the age grades have zero football for almost 6 months. It's absolutely ludicrous. Never fear though, by the time the senior final rolls around they'll try and convince us that it's a top class standard.

This is surely on all the clubs as well. A serious mindset change is needed in Leitrim GAA and let's be honest this has to start from the top.

Ah lads, McWeeney saying things need to change. Well it's been said for years but clubs won't do it.
Barry had his go at revamping underage and nobody would listen to him and his 7 aside games.

Regionals the way to go as has been said.

Ultimately 20s weren't good enough after training since November, a lot of that is on him and his coaching team.

Bringing in sub standard players, having a bigger squad
Than mayo and Galway and for what…a waste
Of time and money…

All the competition at club level can't be blamed
For having no defensive plan other than being 'brave' and going man to man in every game…

He needs to exit stage left now
