Conor Moriarty has scored 11-11 in his last 3 games for Curraha minors. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 21/03/2016 11:06:53 1836322 Link 1 |
I'd be surprised if he's not - he was starting on the Curragha team that won the JFC last year Belt (Meath) - Posts: 274 - 21/03/2016 13:19:17 1836394 Link 0 |
Indeed,I haven't noticed him in latest games,but surely he was.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 21/03/2016 13:41:02 1836402 Link 0 |
Actually just had a look and he hasn't featured in any of Meaths minor games this year which seems strange. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 21/03/2016 13:47:23 1836407 Link 0 |
I see a B Joyce lined out for Curragha at the weekend, is this Brian Joyce? I thought there was a rule brought in that county minors couldn't play adult league. I know my own club's minor has been told to follow this anyway. Belt (Meath) - Posts: 274 - 21/03/2016 16:23:10 1836465 Link 0 |
There is a rule that anyone who is eligible for U 17 cannot play adult football. Or did you mean that the minors were asked not to play with their clubs ? Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1507 - 21/03/2016 17:42:16 1836500 Link 2 |

No, there was a separate rule brought in to deal with player burnout. Members of a minor county panel cannot play adult league with their club until the county minors are out of their championship Belt (Meath) - Posts: 274 - 22/03/2016 08:12:28 1836588 Link 0 |
Meath Minors start their Chamoinship campaign this weekend. They have received gear from the county board and have trained hard under Barry Darren and the lads. They are playing Laois in laois so I am sure it will be a tough outing. At different stages members of teh panel were asked not to line out for their clubs as there were challnge games or league games going on. However, players were allowed to play for their clubs when teh Minor team was inactive as it was in the case of young Joyce from Curraha. Is Moriarty from Curraha on the panel? ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 13/04/2016 15:04:53 1845214 Link 0 |
Best of Luck to the minors at the weekend against Laois. They seem to be a tightnick group with good managers who hopefully can get the best out of them. I was at the Curraha Dunderry game last week and Morriarty and Joyce surely are on the panel. Are there any more lads not on it that should get a look in? Brian Joyce is on the panel. Moriarty isn't but I understand that is by his own choice which if true is a shame. They have a very good group of players and as I said already they have worked very hard over the past 6 months. I have been watching both the under 17 and Minor panels for the past few years and there has been great work done with them and the set up is excellent. Its a pity Moriarty is not on the panel, some think he is our best minor.Do people expect us to beat Laois? ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 14/04/2016 12:26:31 1845492 Link 1 |
Moriarty is a good player but certainly not the best minor in the county........Darragh Campion from Skyrne in my mind holds that distinction. Kepak10 (Meath) - Posts: 164 - 14/04/2016 12:51:49 1845511 Link 0 |
Daragh Campion is the captain of the minor team - he is a very good player - no doubt. They have a lot of good players though! Royalblufill (Meath) - Posts: 518 - 14/04/2016 14:34:34 1845580 Link 0 |
Is it strange that there's not one O'Mahonys, Simonstown, Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne or Summerhill man starting, seeing as these are meant to be our best clubs? Fair play to the lads from smaller more rural clubs like Moynalty, Moylagh, Carnaross and Slane getting a start. nmsmithy96 (Meath) - Posts: 108 - 15/04/2016 15:49:21 1845960 Link 0 |
Its odd alright,but if its the best team then fair enough! ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 15/04/2016 18:44:04 1846025 Link 0 |
Its probably as strong a team as management has available to them. Plenty of strenght down the middle and the full forward line looks very threatening with conlon and scully in the corners. Its a pity Conor Nash and Conor Moriarty didnt make themselves available I'm sure they would have been starters. I also find it incredible that Ashbourne have no one on the panel let alone team. Probably favourites along with Skyrne for minor champ later on in the year. Kepak10 (Meath) - Posts: 164 - 15/04/2016 19:40:49 1846038 Link 0 |
