Paddy Deegan has been nominated to be Kilkenny senior hurling captain this year.

As county champions, O’Loughlin Gaels have the honour of recommending the skipper and have put Deegan forward for the role after he starred in their run to last Sunday week’s All-Ireland Club SHC final. O’Loughlin’s have also nominated Huw Lawlor as vice-captain.

The Cats will begin their 2024 Allianz Hurling League campaign against Wexford at UPMC Nowlan Park next Sunday at 1.45pm.
