The sudden death of Andrew Cochrane at his Barrymore home on January 31 last shocked and saddened many in Athlone and Moate. In his early twenties, Andrew was part of a family synonymous with the GAA and business community in Moate. His father Danny has been associated with the All-Whites for many years and runs Cochrane's drapery store in the town. Andrew's mother Olive owns the Olivia Danielle boutique on Church Street, Athlone, while younger brother Matthew plays football with St. Brigid's GAA, which serves the Barrymore area.
