Formerly of Walshestown, John Casey of Spittalstown, Streamstown, Mullingar passed away on June 27th, 2016, aged 89. John was a founder member of the local St Joseph's GAA Club, whom he served at committee level for many years, including a term as treasurer during the 1980s. He continued to follow the club's fortunes with great interest and was an ardent supporter of both club and county football. As a player, John won a Westmeath JFC medal with his native Walshestown in 1952.
