On Tuesday, August 22nd, one of Killucan's most senior and most loved citizens - Margaret 'Peggie' O'Reilly (née Lynch), Rathwire Lower, Thomastown - passed away. A native of Gowna in Cavan, Peggie was in her 98th year. In her youth, she was a very talented camogie player, who won numerous honours with her school, club and county. Peggie moved to Killucan in 1957 when her late husband Thomas took up the position of principal of Rathwire National School and she became an integral part of the local community during the ensuing 60 years.
