Thomas P Collins of Auburn Villas, Athlone passed away on Friday, September 8th, 2017. He was in his 92nd year. Affectionately known as Tommy, he made a massive contribution to the All - Whites down through the years. Tommy represented the local GAA club with distinction right through from boyhood into the adult team, his father Lewis having been one of the club's founders back in 1923. He also served the club at committee level, including a stint as Secretary between 1947 and 1955, where he played a key role in the purchase, development and opening of Hogan Park, which is still widely regarded as one of the county's finest venues. It stands as a fitting testament to Tommy Collins and others from that era, whose contribution to Moate All Whites is immeasurable. Tom's son Mossy played with and trained many Moate All Whites teams over the years.
