Replying To Redlad6: "Why would u humiliate your neighbouring team like that ,go for points, goals won't be as easy got against Fenagh" Anyone with a passing knowledge of the history of Leitrim football would know that Aughawillan would do the same to any team that was in their way when they were in their pomp, going back to the 1970s. And that is why such a small club in area size has the commendable record and titles they have. They were one of the hardest beaten teams in the past 50 years.

Replying To straightred: "Ah they've been spinning that "realising" line for years now - they're the Tottenham of Leitrim football. Talk and Walk around like they've won everything and won nothing sure they haven't been in a final for about 26 years and don't expect them to be in one anytime soon." Where exactly do Fenagh walk and talk like they've won anything? That's a bit silly now.

It's hilarious that a county that hasn't kicked senior inter county ball since May will be going into November nearly to clear club fixtures

This integration will sink the GAA and imo is a terrible idea.

Replying To TheFlaker: "They have cancelled the jobs report, GDP report and now the inflation report. But the lads on here think everyone is out to get him. They are slowly trying to run television networks behind the scenes doing power deals.
Reporters are not allowed to ask questions, even really obvious ones pointing out clear issues. And then there's the hiring of the likes of Hegseth. It's not Trump derangement syndrome to highlight the mad stuff going on." Sounds a bit like Ireland tbh

I reckon in the next couple of decades you'll have a semi pro/full pro inter county c'ship with a maximum of ten teams if even that. Maybe you'll have a second division comp made of amateur regional sides and second tier counties

Replying To Gaa_lover: "Yes really. No side has been able to retain the Roscommon Senior title since 2017 and has been 4 different winners in that time. The likes of Boyle,Roscommon Gaels,Glaveys if they ever get the chance to play in Connacht would be well able to hold their own against the best in Galway,Mayo." That's nice news. But have it on your own thread. Maybe your championship is improving and other clubs have decided to stop it becoming a one team affair. Super.

Replying To Keephimthere: "Connacht Championship 2026. With 2 fixtures already decided, NY v Ross and London V Mayo, does the fact the Leitrim got the bye last year mean that ye will face Galway in the 1st round in 2026?" I suppose it depends on who New York play in the semi final

Replying To jm25: "Sometimes I hear them mention Galway cork GAA whoever and I think it's Gaelic Football only for it to be about hurling
I do be fuming with the wokeness
How should they describe the arsenal Chelsea teams and what is woke?
it adds up Rte would talk about these teams as have a bit of Irish involvement" When do they mention just Galway GAA as opposed to football or hurling? I think you're reaching there and trying to be clever lad.

It'd be pretty wild if the team with the largest population in the county aren't in senior level in 2026.

If New York had to play Dublin in the championship would New Yorks home game have to be played in Reykjavik because Dublin aren't used to travelling too far in games and it wouldn't be fair to bring them that far?

Anyway moving on, bound to be lots of excitement in Aughavas with their final coming up against Kiltimagh, and it is a 'home' final also. Credit to them for getting there, a fully rural club.

Comparing a friendly win on Saturday night to the magical events that transpired in Budapest yesterday is hilarious. For a small pocket of fans though it probably has more meaning than yesterday in Budapest, and that is their right even though it is baffling.
There is imo simply no comparison. You will see no videos for rugby games like the ones doing the rounds last night and today of the sheer joy of Irish people in bars around the world. Rugby will never have that hold on the majority of Irish people.

Replying To Mugatay: "Is this game been played on the moon? Shannon side fm constantly dropping .
I was initially fully in agreement with you. Put your €20 towards entrance fees for the league games in February. But this is painful at times" Surprised they even broadcast it tbh, usually a Roscommon u8 winter shield league final would take precedence over anything from Leitrim or Longford on that station.

Replying To WeGoAgain: "Probably just pettiness on my part but I've no time for the Scots fans at all. Booing everyone and everything (especially celtic players but that's another story) and the "look at us in our tartan, aren't we mad crack altogether". Final straw for me was the rousing boos and jeers Amhran na bhfiann received in Hampden a few years back." I'd agree with that. Hard to believe we beat them 3 0 a few years ago

It's great for the lad and I hope it works out for him, but it is disastrous for Mayo and those who enjoy gaelic football being played as it should be.
If you were to pick an AFL club that most resembles Mayo then it would be hard to look past St Kilda.
It shows how shallow the talent pool is in Australia when their clubs continually have to go to Ireland and other countries to find new players

I suppose it doesn't really matter that much but he'll win very little titles with St Kilda. One premiership in 152 years of existence isnt too hectic
