Tomás Ó Sé reckons Cavan’s approach to tomorrow evening’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final will be something that the Dubs have yet to experience this year.

The Ulster champions head for Croke Park as 16/1 underdogs after conquering Donegal a little less than fortnight ago and Kerry legend Ó Sé is expecting a direct approach from Mickey Graham’s side.

Writing in his predictions ahead this weekend’s semi-finals for RTE Sport, the five-time All-Ireland winner tipped Dublin for the win but knows the Breffni men won’t go down without a fight.

“Cavan will bring an approach, a mindset that the Dubs haven't met this year.

“No one gave them a prayer against Donegal, yet we found out in the aftermath that they fully believed they were going to win. They were hungry all over the pitch and marked out the key men. Michael Murphy was marked by James Smith, Ryan McHugh was marked out of it by Jason McLoughlin. 

“They were assured in everything they did. You had Gerard Smith and Ciarán Brady attacking from half-back. They are not afraid to hit the long ball. To hurt Dublin, you are going to have to be direct; you have to run at them and face them up offensively and defensively.”

He added: “In the first quarter of the Ulster final, Donegal took one out of nine scoring chances. They kicked the ball away 26 times. Can you see Dublin doing that? I don't. I love what Cavan have done, but for me it's Dublin.”
