Tyrone U20 manager Paul Devlin says ace attacker Eoin McElholm is “100% committed” to his squad despite not featuring for the Red Hands in their win over Antrim on Wednesday night.

McElholm was an unused substitute the Saffrons and missed the All-Ireland champions’ outing against Donegal the previous week as he joined Tyrone’s senior squad in their pre-championship training camp in Portugal.

The Loughmacrory clubman has since been named on the bench by Malachy O’Rourke for his side's Ulster senior football championship quarter-final showdown with Cavan in Omagh on Sunday (4.15pm).

Three days later, the Devlin’s U20 side will travel to take on Armagh in an Ulster championship knock-out clash and, speaking after the team’s 20-point win at O’Neill Park on Wednesday night, Devlin said he’s fully confident of McElholm’s availability for his side’s showdown at the Athletic Grounds next week.

"Eoin will be ready to go when we need him. We just felt tonight there was plenty of time to give other fellows game time," he is quoted saying BBC Sport NI.

"A few rumours going around, papers and stuff, that Eoin's committed to the seniors but Eoin is committed to ourselves 100%.

"He was away on that training camp last week. [And] You give an opportunity to another lad last week to see where he is."
