Replying To midlands:  "Yes, he spoke well after the game which was good to see. However, on Monday's Examiner he bemoaned the fact that some players had missed so much football during the year and suggested that they were ill-prepared for Mayo's high energy. He insisted he wasn't making excuses but by highlighting those issues surely he was detracting somewhat from Mayo's superb victory. Maybe the question should be asked as to why Kerry played so many players who were supposedly ill-equipped for an All-ireland final. Surely there were other fully fit players who could have been called on. On the subs bench alone they had quality players like Paul Geaney, Tadhg Morley and Killian Spillane who weren't used at all.
On a brighter note, credit must go to the thousands of Kerry supporters who stayed on for the cup presentation. Likewise, Eamon Fitzmaaurice, as usual, was generous in his comments, while the two lads on Kerry Radio did their county proud. And the likes of Ciarraimick and other Kerry posters here should also be commended for their honesty and generosity."
