Enda a huge loss for tomorrow. I've a bad feeling about this game. No real pressure on Monghan as they've yet to put in a full 70 min performance and haven't been far off in any of their games. O'Hanlon appears to be fit too which is not good news for Ros. He's a seriously dangerous baller. Fingers crossed we get the job done but it'll not be easy. Enda Smith is a big loss tomorrow but we probably have our strongest panel in a number of years to deal with it. (I hope someone has being practicing penalty kicks?)

I am very interested to see how both managers set out their teams tomorrow and what the match-ups will be?

* Will Ryan O' Toole take Darragh Heneghan?
* Will Brian Stack mark Jack McCarron?
* What about putting Colm Neary on Conor McCarthy and have him back track at speed more than he would like?
* Will Stephen O' Hanlon start (I think he will) and who will take him. Maybe someone like Colm Neary / Eoin McCormack / Sean Lambe.
* Can Ronan Daly keep Michael Brannigan reasonably quiet? Both have being playing well this year.
* If Rory Beggan comes off his line (for some kickouts etc) can some of our speed merchants catch him out? Obviously we cannot give easy frees away within 70 mts or he will punish us.
* Who will mark Daire Cregg. He is due a good game and he is extremely talented and a match winner if he hits form?
* Has Ryan Wylie (outstanding Monaghan player) still the legs for a young, fresh and fast Roscommon team?
* What will the midfield and kickout strategy be for both teams? Monaghan put a lot of effort into trying to close space in previous matches but also had several runners giving several options for their own short kickouts.
* Can Diarmuid Murtagh continue his brilliant scoring form?

Really looking forward to this game as both teams will give it 100%. Would not be a bit surprised if it was a two point win for the Rossies after extra time with Fallon, Hand, etc to make a big contribution from the subs bench. (Surely not more extra time for Monaghan)

If Monaghan do get the better of us I would not begrudge them, as like ourselves they have a very small population. May the best team win a cracking match on the day.

A season which promised so much with Connacht titles at the three grades is now over. The first side to exit the All ireland race. I wonder should they have forfeited the Connacht title for better preparation for the AI series. After the successful league campaign, we should have had one eye on the AI series. After all the earlier success, played two and lost two in the big race.
I suppose we can prepare for D1 football next season

Firstly well done to Monaghan and any of their posters on here. Fully deserved their win and good value for their 9 point win.

As for us we saved our worst performance of the year for the last match. Kickouts not finding them men, us not showing the intensity and fight in the middle 8 that was required. Defensively very poor lacked shape and players so often left flatfooted.

Not a whole lot of difference between Tyrone and Monaghan but how different our performances was 3 weeks apart was something else. One thing for sure we wouldn't have stayed up in Division one or even reached the Connacht final had we played similar to that today.

Finally thanks to players and management for what was a transitional year on the line and with many new or newish faces getting their chance and where we secured Division 1 status and won Connacht.

Nobody will be hurting more than them and will know they are a whole lot better than what they showed today, that's football and sport unfortunately and we'll go again in 2027.

It's just so annoying to see a performance like that when it really matters. We need to look at what the hell is our problem when it really matters. No shape plan or intensity to our play today. No leaders on the pitch. It was embarrassing watching that. Mark dowd needs to really look at our mentality and get to the bottom of why we can't perform when it really matters.

Roscommon remain so inconsistent can only imagine how frustrating it is for supporters watching.

As good and as controlling that Monaghan display was it was against a Roscommon side that looked a pale shadow of the team that had conquered Connacht five weeks earlier.
