Replying To southmeathgael:  "Hes spot on, we are kicking ourselves. Dublin win that game by 10, meath much better then westmeath just caught bad on the day, similar to Donegal and Down. Westmeath deserved it on the day but meath v dublin or louth would have been the proper leinster final"
Oh dear. I think you need to give Westmeath a bit more credit.l? That's the problem with Meath, still living on past glories.

Well done Westmeath. Thoroughly deserved Leinster Title against all the odds silencing a lot of critics on the way......

I think it needs to be said again what a great job the FRC have done with regard to the new rules. It has given football a new lease of life. It's fantastic to see teams like Roscommon and Westmeath fully embrace the "new" game and they have reaped their rewards.

I would still have Kerry out in front. But there is a clutch of good teams behind them who would be very confident of taking any team down on their day. The next few weeks are going to be fascinating.

Must be the first time a Division 3 team won the Leinster SFC...makes the Province very competitive!
Over in Connaught 3 All Ireland SFC wins in 59yrs all from the same County.

Can't see Galway winning, they peaked for our game and have gone backwards if anything since then.

Since Galway completed the three in a row in 1966, a Connacht team has only won two All Irelands, Galway in 1998 and 2001. What's the third one you're referring to.

An impressive win by Westmeath yesterday. Fully deserved. Thought Monaghan might have caused another upset but not to be.
Standalone provincial finals have stood on their own feet. Why can't the provincial championships as a whole stand on their own feet..

3 of them could.
One could be abolished and few would notice.

Because they are not equal championships, but current system then brings all provincial finalists to the same position in the race for sam. Contrast Armaghs route to Corks, yet both are in same position when we start again next week. Also Munster is seeded to keep big 2 apart, so almost automatically they will have this home advantage every year. Is that fair?
